(AK) Hi, Veronica! We're so glad you could join us!

(VS) Hi! I'm so excited to be here. I've been dreaming of being on a Vogue cover for ages now!

(AK) Haha! Well I'm glad you're here now! So how does it feel being the first Latina superhero in the MCU?

(VS) It's surreal, honestly. I'm honored to be able to represent my people in these films, and being the first one to do so is incredibly humbling.

(AK) Was there ever any hesitation in choosing the role? I imagine it was quite daunting being tasked with a role such as this.

(VS) There was never really any hesitation but it was definitely daunting. Cecilia Rivera is such an iconic character in the comics and I had to do her justice in the film, which was absolutely terrifying at times.

(AK) I'm sure. What sort of prep did you do to physically prepare for the role?

(VS) A whole lot of working out, which wasn't the most fun (giggles). There wasn't really much to it other than a diet and an intense workout schedule.

(AK) Do you plan on splurging after filming is over?

(VS) Well I kind of already have been. Maintaining the diet is not the easiest. Chocolate ice cream is basically my best friend and I still haven't been able to let it go.

(AK) I see (chuckles). So were you a fan of the Marvel Comics growing up or did you have to research the characters?

(VS) I wasn't necessarily a fan of the comics growing up but I did now about some of the more famous characters, Spider-Man and Iron Man and a few others. So I did do some research on Cecilia and the people she was interacting with in both the comics and in the film.

(AK) So this film is the next and possibly final installment in the Captain America series, and the cast is huge. Was it ever intimidating for you?

(VS) Absolutely, especially in the beginning. I had gotten to know a portion of the cast through online interactions so it wasn't as scary, but I mean meeting the Robert Downey Jr. in person is terrifying. But everyone is so incredibly kind and talented and it has been a joy working alongside them.

(AK) Absolutely! Now I know you had been previously linked to fellow actor Sebastian Stan, and many fans were curious as to how filming would play out, and it seems as though you two are rather happy. Is there any friendship brewing?

(VS) I am happy to say yes to friendship right now. We've definitely had our fair share of ups and downs but I've been working hard on being a better friend and an all-around better person, and I've been happy to welcome him into my life again.

(AK) After you two went separate ways you moved across the country to Los Angeles. How did that help you out at that stage of life?

(VS) I was twenty six when I moved to LA, which was a definite leap I took. Being away from family and friends was really difficult but I was able to focus on myself and figure out what I really want out of life. So in the end, it was helpful. I am however, planning to move back to New York.

(AK) Really?

(VS) Yeah, I miss the New York environment. Plus I haven't seen my family in ages, so bring close to them again will be nice.

(AK) I completely agree! It has been such a pleasure speaking with you Veronica!
