The car ride to school was quiet. Camila and I entered the school one after the other. She insisted.

It was passing period, I leaned against my locker observing Camila. She stood in front of Sara smiling at at her and sweet talking to her.

Poor Sara thinks she has a chance with Camila. To think Camila is just pretending to like her to cover up who she is. How do you fake being a lesbian? How do you go around sweet talking to people who you don't even like? I stared at them asking these questions to myself over and over again.

"Stop eye fucking her and just ask her out." Ariana came up next me opening up her locker which was next to mine.

I shook my head still staring at Camila. "Nah. It wont work out. We're complete opposites." I said not wanting to spill too much.

"You know what they say, opposites attract" Ariana shut her locker and I turned to look at her. I shook my head again getting another glimpse at Camila.

"Not always." I said quietly more to myself. I turned and opened my locker getting out the books I needed. I walked with Ariana straight to class avoiding looking back at Camila.

______

"Ok team let's go out there and win this!!" Our basketball coach yelled out to us in the locker room. Today was our first game. Camila has to wait for me until my I finish my game. She said she hated basketball so she's waiting outside. I drove Sinu's car to school today again so I'm Camila's only ride back.

We all huddled in and our coach told us our positions. We all did our chant and headed out.

The gym was full, full of girls. But there were some others here and there. The game started and we were up by fifteen. I felt unstoppable scoring points right after the other.

For some reason I had the urge to look out to the audience on my right. I spotted Camila climbing up to the stands.

"Lauren pay attention!" My teammate called out. I turned around and instantly felt a sting on the inside of my lips. I tasted medal in mouth, I touched the inside of my top lip with my fingers and saw blood at the tips. My front teeth hurt, I thought they might fall off.

The referee called time as my coach helped me get off the court. "Jauregui are you ok?" He asked sincerely. Of course since we had our win secured. He called for someone to assist me to the nurses room.

Two cheerleaders volunteered and helped me. I looked around for Camila in the stands and saw her walking down to the floor.

The nurse made me rinse my mouth until the blood was gone. I had to hold a paper towel to the inside of my lip incase more blood came out.

The two cheerleaders were still inside with me sharing the only chair in the nurses office. Why are they still here?

I walked out with the two cheerleaders following behind. I saw Camila waiting outside on the chairs against the wall.

"Thanks girls I could take it from here." I told the cheerleaders. The smiled but they didn't move.

"No problem Lauren....You looked so cute making those touchdowns." One of the girls said smiling wide. I heard Camila snort.

"Thanks." She smiled and gave me a hug kissing my checks.

"Feel better boo" They said and waved bye to Camila as well.

Camila stood up and we walked through the halls going to the locker room.

"I hope your booboo doesn't get in the way of you making more touchdowns." Camila said mocking the cheerleaders. She giggled to herself smiling wide.

"You want to kiss my booboo better?" I puckered out my lips and faced Camila.

"In your dreams." She chuckled and looked away.

Only in my dreams.
