Simply Everything

No matter where I go

or what stupid things I do

there is always one with me

and that one is always you

you're not found only in certain buildings

and not only places with pews

you've always paid my debts

no matter how much I seem to accrue.

What a thing to revel in

to never be alone

even in places far or strange

with you I'm always home

like a parent always giving

never expecting in return

even when I don't listen

or when I don't ever seem to learn.

Never could I imagine

being in such a wonderful state

seeing so much hate in the world so far

and still see beauty in its wake

your purpose ingrained in everything

whether or not I understand

and despite being so confused or sad

my comfort is knowing I'm in your hands.

You're the mighty rock on which I stand

that no storm will ever carry away

no matter how much dark there is

you're the piercing light of every day

for such a man with so many faults

how could I deserve such a love?

my well will always overflow

having so much more than enough.

You are my strong, mighty fortress

My song, my elation, my voice in which I sing

You are to who I belong, my salvation, my only choice,

You are simply everything...
