xlii. Hangovers
Jas'mariee

"Jas..Jas..wake up."

I stirred in my sleep before finally opening my eyes to see Savannah. I groaned and sat up as my head started pounding.
"Oh shit. I'm still here?"

She chuckled.
"Yes girl. Here's some Advil and water."

I smiled, grabbing the items from her and taking the pills.
"Thanks."

"Now get up missy. Your parents are going to kill you."

"Oh shit!" I yelled, grabbing my jacket and bag. "Let's go Sav."

She smiled and followed behind me. On our way to my house I asked if I could borrow her sunglasses, hoping they would hide the dark circles under my eyes.

"You never need to get that drunk again." Savannah chuckled, pulling up to my house.

I groaned and held my head, putting the shades on.
"Do I look okay?" I asked her, knowing my parents were going to ask multiple questions.

She sighed.
"Girl. You look rough but you have a good excuse. After the party you stayed at my house with me and Ayesha, and we accidentally fell asleep. Not the best excuse but hopefully they fall for it."

I groaned and rolled my eyes.
"Bye girl." I got out of the car as she rolled the window down.

"Good luck!"

"I'm going to need it!" I smiled, waving as she drove off.

I sighed and started the walk towards my house when I noticed Kyrie in his front yard, dribbling his basketball. I was tempted to walk over there but I was to embarrassed after last night, I wanted to avoid him at all costs. I threw my hood on and sped walked to my door but before I could reach for the knob, a voice rang from behind me.

"Trying to avoid someone?"

I rolled my eyes and turned to see Kyrie across my lawn, basketball clutched in his hand.
"Nope, just trying to sleep for 12 hours straight and make this headache go away."

"Yeah..you were pretty wasted last night. Can't hold your alcohol?" He said obnoxiously loud, as if he wanted my parents to hear him.

"Mind not saying that out loud." I sighed.

"Trying to keep up with your good girl image?" He chuckled.

Asshole Kyrie was back...

"I have to go..." I sighed, opening my door and walking in before he could say anything else.

I let out a sigh of relief and leaned against the door, to see my mom waiting for me.
"Welcome back. How nice of you to finally come home."

"I'm sorry mama. I-"

"I know. I know. Savannah texted me about your little sleep over. I was just worried."

I gave her a small smile and nodded.
"Well, I'm going up to my room."

She nodded, before stopping me.
"Take a shower too, I can still smell the alcohol on you."

I sighed and held my head before continuing my walk upstairs.
Busted.

"Who's house are we getting ready at?" Hazel asked through the phone.

"I need to get out of mine."

"We could come to my house. I'll drive." Ayesha offered.

"Perfecto mi amor." I smiled.

Hazel chuckled.
"How was the party last night?"

"It was-"

"Little miss ayesha here got drunk for the first time in forever."

"Not drunk.."

Hazel laughed loudly.

"Yes, drunk, throwing up in the toilet drunk."

Ayesha fake laughed.
"Haha. What happened to you?"

"We not talking about that."

"Oop!" Hazel instigated.

"Didn't you spend the night? Steph said you were to drunk to leave."

"Fine. I was a mess."

"I also heard that Kyrie took care of you." She smirked.

Hazel furrowed her eyebrows.
"Oh! I didn't know y'all were cool again, that's great!"

I furrowed my eyebrows as well.
"I..don't remember that. I'm pretty sure I blacked out."

"Oh! Steph is calling, let me know when you guys are on the way!"

"Alright, bye y'all."

"Bye.." I sighed, hanging up.

I stood up and started sitting through my closet for an outfit. I finally decided on something decent and took a shower, changing into sweatpants and a t-shirt. Soon enough, Hazel texted me that she was in my driveway. I grabbed my stuff and walked out to her car, noticing Kyrie packing up his car as well.

"Your mans is leaving too." Hazel smirked.

I put my stuff in her car and looked over at him.
"I'll be right back."

She nodded. I walked over towards his driveway.
"Ky?"

"Oh wow. Now you want to talk to me?"

I rolled my eyes.
"Are you talking about this morning?"

"Obviously."

"I'm sorry..I was just hungover and embarrassed."

"About what?"

"Last night. I..was just embarrassed.."

"About.."

"You know what."

He closed his trunk and looked at me.
"You remember the whole night?"

I sighed and thought about it.
"I remember you holding my hair back as I puked my guts out."

He chuckled.
"I was so pissed."

"What happened after that? I just remember Savannah waking me up the next morning."

"Nothing." He shrugged.

"Nothing?"

"Yeah, you got back in bed and fell asleep. Simple."

I didn't believe him but I went along with it.
"Okay. Well, are you ready for the game?"

He nodded.
"You coming?"

I nodded.
"Of course."

"Well I'll see you there. Hope your looking forward to a good game."
