Hiccup's POV
It was seventh period, otherwise known as my free period, but unfortunately, I was going to have spend it with Merida as we worked on our project. I sighed and walked to the courtyard where we had agreed to work. She was sitting on one of the benches checking her watch, probably thinking that I was going to be an hour late or something.
"Hey, Merida" I said. She looked up, surprised to see me
"Hi" She said grimly "Let's get this over with"
"You know.." I started ".. We aren't going to finish this all in one day and we're going to have to see each other a lot more, so let's try to be civil" At first she looked at me with a raised brow, but she sighed and stuck out her hand
"Fine, just for the project" she said
"Just for the project" I agreed "Alright let's get started" I said taking out the poster board I'd brought with me. Merida looked surprised that I'd brougt the poster board
"What?" I asked
"I thought you would make me do all the work" She admitted
"Well..no..we-the boys and I aren't as bad as you and your friends think we are." I said
"Why do you act as if you're all high and mighy then?" She questioned
"I-I don't know" I said, more to myself than to her
"Well let's just get started" She said. Working on the project wasn't all that bad. We talked a little bit and asked each other questions. I found out more about Merida than I thought I would. Such as the fact that she had three triplet brothers and her father had lost his leg to a very weird bear. Merida and I were lauging our sides off when we told each other everything. Merida was sort of like the sister-friend that I had always dreamt of, but never had. Surprisingly, we finished the project and it looked great. After we packed up, Merida and I just stood there and looked at each other before I finally spoke
"Well I'd better head back to the dorm"
"Uh..yeah" She said. I smiled at her as I turned around to head to my next class.
"Hey, um.. to be honest I like nerdy Hiccup way more than I like cool-guy Hiccup" she said
"Nerdy?" I askd teasingly. She merely smiled at me and walked towards the main building. Huh. Nerdy.
