~Grady’s POV~

We arrived in town earlier today and immediately went to searching for my mate. We heard mention of a party and hoped to be able to fine her there. After following the scent of where everyone was going, we arrived at an old farm house with about 40 humans and 1 she-wolf that is in a lot of trouble.

“That little bitch!” I said under my breath as I watched her have sex with some human.

“Sir, aren’t you scared that she is going to small us?” My Beta Ben asked.

I cracked him on the back of the head for being so dumb. “That’s why we are downwind from them idiot.”

“Oh, right.” I am really not sure why I chose Ben as my Beta, but when nearly half my Pack left when they found out what I had done to Aurora, I had to choose him. He was the strongest out of all the male wolves I had left.

“Be ready to shift back when they come down the hill, my mate is coming home with me tonight.” I ordered with an evil smirk on my lips. I watched as Aurora and the human got up and he put his clothes back on. I had been watching them since the party was going on and it sickened me how he was right by her side the entire time. Then when they were together later and he asked her to marry him, I wanted to rip his throat out. But, I could not reveal myself yet. The time had to be just right.

“Here they come, shift.” I stayed in human form while the 5 men I had with me shifted into their wolves. The others stayed behind at the house we rented to prepare for my mates return and the punishment she would endure.

~Aurora’s (Blue’s) POV~

It was getting late and Nate and I decided to head back home. I watched as he put his shorts and shoes back on. He handed me his shirt so I could walk back with him in my human form.

I took his hand and we walked down the hill, when we got about half was a familiar scent slapped me in my face and I froze. He is here.

“Nate, we have to find a different way home.” I could hear the panic in my voice as I tried to say it quietly.

He looked at me with confusion in his eyes. “Why, this is the shortest way.”

I sniffed the air and realized that Grady was not alone; he had at least five others with him. I sniffed again to try and tell where they were.

“It’s him, he’s here, and we need to go another way.”

“Wait, what? Grady is here? How?” He started looking from left to right trying to see where he might be.

“I don’t know, but come one.” I grabbed his hand and took off into the opposite direction of their scents. We got about 20 feet and I heard their growls and sounds of heavy wolf paws hitting the ground. “RUN NATE, RUN FASTER!” I yelled to him. I let him get in front of me, I can take a hit from the wolves, he can’t.

“Come on Blue, stay with me!” We tried running faster, but wolves are always faster.

They were getting closer and we needed to get home before they could hurt Nate or get me.

We neared the edge of the woods and Nate pushed himself harder. I was fine, but my bad leg was hurting a little. I could hear Duke and Polly barking frantically as they caught the commotion in the woods. We somehow beat them past the dogs and then I heard them yelp as one of Grady’s men snapped their necks.
