Chapter 18

"I'll tear out his heart."
Klaus growled from the other end of the phone.

"You don't need to"
I sighed.
"He's still alive and just getting used having emotions."

'That's a sad excuse love"

I sighed.
"I know Klaus."

"We will find another way to find the rest of your family."

"I know Klaus. Just promise me you won't kill him?"

Klaus sighed.
"I promise. Now gotta go, I've got a city to run."
Klaus ended the call and Freya pulled me into a hug.

"I know I can never know exactly how you're feeling, but my past gives me a pretty good guess."

"Thank you Freya."
I looked down at my hands and I could feel the tension rise.

"No! Sylvia don't you even think about it."

"Hey I didn't say anything!"

"No but I know exactly what you're thinking. You are NOT turning your humanity off."

I sighed.
"Would it really be that bad?"

"YES! You'd lose what makes you who you are."

"Yes, but I wouldn't feel like my heart was about to explode."

Freya sighed.
"That's true but we know for a fact Kai would be your emotional trigger. So there is no way to bring you back."

I sighed and flopped back on the couch.
"I know, you're right."

"Perhaps you should just try talking to Kai?"

I raised an eyebrow at her.
"Did you not just hear that entire conversation?"

"Well, yes. But you're on about a guy who's never felt anything for anyone. He thinks he's going to lose you if he lets you go."

"I know but-"

"Talk. To. Him."

I sighed.
"Fine. But I'm going to need a day or so to compose myself."

"Makes sense. Call me if you need me, you can stay in my hotel room."
Freya soon walked out.

I spent a few moments trying to compose myself before I left Kai's apartment.

I'd waited a few days to let Kai cool down and I decided to take a walk around Mystic Falls.

"I'm surprised you're not with your psycho boyfriend."
Tyler clipped as I walked through town.

"I'm REALLY not in the mood Tyler."

"Well you might want to get in the mood, because Liv is going to kill Kai."

The veins rose in my face.
"Where is he?"

"The Salva-"

Before Tyler could finish his sentence I sped over to the Salvatore's.

Oh god I smell blood.

I ran inside and I could smell Kai's blood.

I followed the trail to the kitchen where both he and Jeremy were passed out. Kai's heart was very faint...

"Oh no, Kai!"
I sped over.

As I got to Kai, Elena ran in and went to Jeremy.

My first instinct was to bite into my wrist and feed Kai my blood.
