Chapter 5 | 8 mths

5 more days till Christmas:

"Okay Taylor put Lane upstairs in the play room with Leigh. Watch them while I wrap presents."
"Okay common guys."

"Syrup durp!" Said Lane.

It makes me wonder what goes on inside that head of his. He always gives me blank stares. No sparkle like with my mom and dad. What was that sparkle I wonder.

"Okay guys! I'm going to lay you down Leigh on this blanket, While Lane plays with some of these blocks. I'm going to have some "me" time."

I wanted to fall asleep on this blanket, but I was awoke to Lane, slamming a block on my forehead.
I screamed.

"Wahhhhhhh!"
"Oh okay Lane that's not nice! Common Lane lets play with this teddy bear! Yay! Less abusive stuff is always the most fun! And your going to come up here with me."

I was propped right in the middle of his two arms. He had me to where my head perfectly fit in his arm crease. I took quite a big slumber.

That night was different than any other night I have ever witnessed. There was so many people in our house. More than the average book club crowd. The people were feeding me things that tasted like sweet cinnamon. I wasn't exactly complaining. Near the end of this get together, people sat in about every seat in the house having a box in their lap. They would tear up the box to see what was inside. The wrapping was green, blue with snowflakes, red with tinsel, and with candy canes. My mom had two boxes. One that was big, with red swirls on it. She opened it and she waited to discover that it was a small Santa outfit. I hope that's not for me! But I came to find out that it was when she carried me once again up the stairs on my diaper changing table. She put it on, and it was the hottest thing I have ever wore! I couldn't bare it! I tried my best to pull at it, but with my tiny muscles I couldn't even get a button unattached. But, everyone seemed to pay me more attention so, hey! The second box laid upon her was filled with green paper. She smiled and laughed. She actually even tried to give it back!

"Well guys thank you!" Said almost everyone.

I gave a go at it.

"We lo!"
"Awe!" Everyone whimpered.

"Well guys we will see you at Easter! Love you guys! Have a blessed Christmas!"

"Everyone make sure you get your presents!" Yelled my mom.

Everyone headed out with new stuff they adored, and Lane even headed out with a toy car! I tried to get it from him but that boy would never let go of anything! Still yet, attached at hip.

"Common Leigh. It's passed 10:00. You need your sleep. Five more days till Christmas! And I'll take this hot Santa suit off of you."

Thank you daddy!

We headed upstairs with me in his arms, placing me in the crib. He turned of the lights and whispered "I love you!" Through the cracked door.
