T H R E E

I went and hid in the bathroom, getting inside the tub I could hear his heavy feet dragging on the floor. I got scared and stayed as quiet as I could. He walked past the bathroom and went into the room and slammed the door closed. I didn't hear anything else. I sat in there for a hour, until i knew he was sleep. I took a shower for work and went into my bedroom to lay down.

I laid down as quietly as I could, finally in my bed and not in the cold bathtub anymore. I was dozing off when my phone went off. FUCK !

"Hey beautiful"
"Who is this" I asked
"Markell, I thought you weren't gonna answer" he said smiling
"I wouldn't had if I knew it was you, why are you calling me at 3 in the morning" I  asked irritated
"I was thinkin bout you shawty, that's all" he said
"Oh that's cute and all but I have to go to sleep for work in the morning, goodnight"
"Let me take you out" he said
"How many times I gotta tell you, I'm in a relationship" i said
"That ain't ya man if you still walking places, i can get you a car. Anything you need"
"I'm good, goodnight" i said then hung up.
Finally some sleep

7am

I got woken up to me being drugged off the bed & hearing Jordan yelling

"Get the fuck up hoe, you think you slick huh" he said grabbing me by my throat
"What are you talking about" I struggle to get out his grip
"You thought i was sleep last night but I wasn't" he slapped me "I'm not good enough for you or something" he said pinning me to the wall
I couldn't move. I thought about pushing him off me but it would have made the situation worse
"I told him I had a boyfriend and that I wasn't interested what are you talking about you know I love you" i said crying "let me down".
"Let me find out you out here tricking I'm beating yo ass" he said gripping my throat tighter then letting me go. I dropped to the floor coughing trying to stop myself from crying. I got up going into the bathroom getting ready for work. Another day of acting as if everything is good.

Although I have bruises on my arms, a few scratches on my face and a hand print around my neck it could have gone worst so I'm thankful that's all that shows. I wash my face and brush my teeth, thinking about an outfit that can cover my neck. I finally finish getting dressed and I sneak and get my keys and leave for work. It's 8:25 and I don't have work until 9:30 so I have time to stop and get breakfast with my bestie.

"Girl why you got that damn scarf on its 70 degrees already and it's only 8 in the morning" Megan said
"Well if you must know I'm trying out a new style" I said lying
"Well when yo ass pass out from a heat stroke I'm not saving you."
We get to the waffle house and order our food to go since it's almost time for work.
"Best friend you know this nigga, he staring hella hard" she said hitting my thighs
"What dude" I said looking up from my phone "oh my god I do" I said trying to hide my face behind her back.
"Who is he, he fine. Oh and he coming over here"
"Hey good morning ladies" He said
"Good morning, and your name is ?" Megan asked
"Markell"
"Megan" she said and they shook hands
"Girl get the hell up" Megan said as she pulled me from behind her
"What is your problem, you don't see this fine man standing here waiting for you to say something". she said moving over so he could sit down
"I texted you this morning, I was trynna see if you was free Friday night. Maybe we could go for a couple of drinks if you want"
"I thought we talked about this last night" I said turning towards him
"Yeah we did but you seem like you were in a rush to get off the phone, I was waiting to see if you was gone walk pass the store but I seen you here so that even better".
"That's cute in all but I'm going have to turn down your offer, you know cause of the boyfriend and all. Don't get me wrong your cute but I don't know anything about you."
"That's why I asked if we could go for drinks. As friends" he said
"I'll have to think about it, I'll text you. I gotta go tho" I said as Megan walked up with our food
"It's gonna happen one day beautiful."

"Let that man take you out and leave Jordan. So you can see what fucking with a real man feels like" Megan said eating her food.
"I'm sure Jordan not gonna let me out of his sight any time soon, he heard me on the phone with kell last night"
"What happened, did he hit your anything" she asked
I pulled my scarf off showing the red hand mark on my throat
"See this shit gotta stop Nessa, I'm serious one day he's gonna end up hurting you really bad again. And I can't lose you" she said while taking my hand
"I'm fine, I'll survive" I said driving.

When we got to work we seen that there was a new employee and Shonda was training her. She looked frustrated so I offered to take over.
"Thank you" shonda mouthed then walked to the back
"What's your name?" I asked
"Zaina, and yours ?"
"Vanessa, but you can call me Nessa" I said
I got to training her, showing her how to work the cash register, which way to fold clothes, how to greet customers ect. She seemed really sweet, she was no older than 16 or 17.
After her training, it was time for our lunch break. Megan let her eat with us and we got to know a lot about Zaina and where she grew up. And since today was only a training day she got off early, lucky. But she stayed until we were off I'm guessing she didn't have a ride.

"Girl you still here" I said clocking out
"Yeah I had to wait for my stupid ass sister" she said irritated
"Oh do you know when she's coming" I asked
"She here now but they made me wait an extra hour so I'm making them wait" she said
Girl you crazy" I said laughing
"Nessa come here" Megan yelled from the front
"Why the hell are you yelling in this place" I asked opening the door. I seen her talking to Markell
"Okay see at first it was cute, that you were trying but now your kinda scaring me" I said.
"What are you talking about" he said laughing
"Did you follow us here and that's how you know where I work?" I asked
"Um no I came to get my sister shawty, I ain't following you." he said
"Sister ?"
"Yea Zaina that's my sister she started today" he said
"Oh oops, my bad for saying you followed us" I said laughing

I finally decide I sat there long enough and now I was ready to go. But when I walked out I seen Markell talking to Vanessa and Megan

"Oh my god can you not" I said walking from the back
"What I do now" he said
"Stop hitting on every girl you see, especially ones I work with" I said grabbing his arm "c'mon boy".
"I know them chill out, go get in the car or something" he said
"Flirting with every girl you see huh" I heard Vanessa say
"Nah she dragging it" I heard Markell say before I left out
"Bru where that nigga at" my other brother asked
"In there lying".
