Five's point of view:

"Sorry." I say quickly, my face turning crimson.
"Don't be." y/n responds, smiling and blushing the same shade as me.
"You hungry?" I ask her while moving over to the canned food.
"Yeah."
"Let's see. We have.. canned soup or canned fruit. What a wide range of food." I say sarcastically while letting out a small laugh in an attempt to lighten the dull mood.
"Just fruit for now I think. We should be quick and have another look around. Find clues to see when we are." She says after chuckling at my comments.
We eat and get up again. We start to look through the rubble only to find bodies.. some of the people look mildly familiar. As if we've met them before.

Your Point of view:

Five walks over to one of the few visible bodies, I assume the rest are covered by the debris, and takes a closer look. He takes something from the hand of one of them as I approach him. He lifts up an ocular prosthesis- a glass eye- before looking back down onto the body. He stands up and puts the eye in his pocket.
"Let's go." He says before starting walking agin, I walk next to him and we move towards some buildings that are still partially standing but clearly not stable. We walk down the ash covered ally way between them to find a body, his arm bare shoeing a tattoo. The Umbrella Academy tattoo that we all got a few months back.
"Is that?" Five asks.
"Klaus." I say, letting a tear fall down my cheek.
Five grabs my hand and pulls me away only he doesn't let go when we reach the open again. We eventually come across a newspaper bin. Five reaches in and pulls one out. It is 2019. The newspaper looks normal, proving this happened with no warning.
"We would be in our thirties right now.." Five says slowly.
"Let's not think about that. Just makes what happened to the others even sadder." I say while moving forwards again.

We reach where the house was and sit on the floor again.
"What are we going to do?" Five asks.
"I don't know. We're trapped. The only escape currently seems to be death and that's not a very positive thing. We just have to try to find someone, anyone and survive until we figure this out."
"...And what if everyone is.. you know, dead?"
"Then we figure this out alone." I finish.
Five jumps so he's sitting in front of me and looks me in the eyes. I look back into his clear blue-green eyes as he begins to say something.
"Y/n, this isn't an ideal time to tell you this but we could die any day and well you need to hear it. I really like you. I have done for a while and I can't just ignore the kiss. I need to know that you meant it and that it wasn't just an 'in the moment' thing..."
"Five I-" he cuts me off:
"No, don't explain. I get it. It's fine. You don't have to try to spare my feelings, just forget-" Time for revenge..
"Not what I was going to say. I was going to say. That I really like you too and have wanted to say that for a really long time."
He looks at me clearly in shock. I sense the sadness deep within him lift and be replaced with happiness.
"Are you serious?"
"Would I say that if I wasn't?"
In response he smiles and wraps his arms around me.
"Yo have no idea how happy that just made me." He says into my shoulder so it sounds slightly muffled.
"I think I do."
He pulls away from the hug and smiles at me.
"Funny, I never imagined anyone actually smiling in a scene like this." Five chuckles and sits next to me after I finish saying this.
"I never even imagined anything like this happening in my lifetime honestly. I wonder what caused this. There is no evidence to suggest anything specific." Five says while scanning our surroundings again.

The sky slowly begins to light up from grey to vibrant oranges and yellows indicating that night is near. Five lies down and looks up at the sky, I copy and it's as if all our troubles have disappeared. The smell of smoke fades into the background as we focus on the changing colours. The destruction around us fades away as I fall asleep.

I see something. A force of some form. I look through it and it causes what's behind it to look distorted. A metal bar appears in the middle of the room and it bends. It's powerful and unlike anything I've seen before. I step back feeling fear sink in. I know I'll find out what this is. Someday but not now.

I wake up to see a light grey sky and Five kneeling next to me.
"Eight, are you okay?"
"Yeah..I'm fine."
"You were moving around a lot and-"
"Just a nightmare, don't worry." I say before he gets himself into a proper state of worry, something he does relatively often.
"Okay. So what today?"
"Well we both have more energy now. We try to get back and if that fails..then we search further than where we searched yesterday. We need shelter, proper shelter. I don't know about you but I'd rather not sleep outside in the rain.
"Shit what about winter, what time of year is it? We could freeze and summer, sunstroke."
"Five, calm down. We can't worry about that right now. We have to live every day like it's our last because it definitely could be. We have to focus on what's happening now."
I stand up and attempt to go back while Five puts a hand on my shoulder in case I succeed. Nothing. He tries while I have my hand on his shoulder and again, nothing.

Okay, this part was not the best. Kinda trashy but never mind.
Also, I'm going back to school this week because half term is over which means that updates may slow down but I will try my best. Also, thank you so much for 2K, I'm freaking out. I hope to see you in the next chapter, goodbyeee :)))
