Melody was walking out of her part time job at the corner store when her phone rang, "Hello?" "Hey, Melody?" Melody took her phone away from her ear and looked at the caller ID, Roonie. "Yeah?" she said. "It's Ronnie, the guy you ran into earlier? I wanted to know when you wanted to go out?" Melody thought for a minute, "Uhm this weekend?" She said. Their was a pause before he spoke, "Sounds great, text me later okay?" Melody smiled. "Okay."
Melody got home and sighed, "You're late." her dad spoke, She sighed as she took off her shoes. "Just by thirty minutes daddy. I had to walk, no bus fair." He nodded to her, "Okay princess, go study." He said kissing her forehead before walking away. She went up the steps to her room and closed the door locking it before walking to her bed. She had just a few more months until she was done with High School, but then she had collage. Her parents expected perfection, she could deliver but it was stressful.
"Melody, sweet heart dinner is ready." Her mother said through the door. Melody got up from her bed and straightened out her shirt. She unlocked and opened her door putting on a fake smile ready to talk about her day.
"How was your day?" Her father asked. "It was fine, same as yesterday." She said, it wasn't a complete lie. If she told them the truth they'd want to meet him, then they'd forbid her to see him. She wasn't about to let that happen, little did she know she'd regret that in the future. "How is your Algebra coming along? Still getting A's?" Melody sighed a little bit but not noticeable. "Yes mom." She said as she took a bite of her chicken. "And English? A's?" Her dad asked. "Yep, I have A's in all of my classes." "When's graduation?" Her mom asked her. "June first." Her mom gasped, "That's in three months! We must get you into a collage! Oh and you graduation party! We'll do it after church, so every one will be perfectly on time. June first is a Saturday, right dear?" Her mom spat out faster than sonic the hedgehog can run. "Yes darling." Her father answered. "OH! We'll invite every one from church! Haley will be so excited to see you! Why don't you guys see each other anymore dove?" Melody rolled her eyes at the pet name her mother gave her when she was five, "I don't know mom, ask Haley." Melody said threw gritted teeth. "Her mom kept going on and on about graduation and collage and Haley, the school slut.
Every one loved her. Melody couldn't find out why, Sure she had blonde perfectly straight hair blue eyes and the perfect body. She wore girly dresses and skirts while melody wore skinny jeans and converse. She'd wear band shirts but her parents would die if they knew what kind of music she listened to. Melody listened to bands like, Slipknot, Pantera, and Metalica. The exact opposite of what her parents wanted her to like. Even though Melody dressed pretty and semi girly, she still got picked on at school for being the emo. The virgin, nerdy, outcast, emo.
By this time Melody was lost in her own little world not even paying attention to what her parents were saying, "Melody!" He mom yelled. Melody snapped back into reality, "Yes?" "I asked if you're okay? You haven't ate much." Melody nodded, "Yeah mom i'm fine, just not all that hungry. May I be excused?" Melody's mom nodded, "Yes, make sure you get to sleep soon. Big test tomorrow." Melody nodded and got up taking her plate to the kitchen before walking up the stairs to her bed room.
