Chapter 12

It's been a week since Melody went over Ronnie's, she's spent most of her time at home. If was fairly easy considering she works at home. She does hair and makeup at her house, she gets paid well. Well enough that she could support a child and herself, with some money left over for whatever. She was never going to let that thought go, she wonders every day if the baby would have been a boy or girl, would they look more like Ronnie or herself. She'd never know and it saddens her. There was a knock at the door and it confused Melody making her furrow her eye brows. She got up from her spot on the couch and answered the door. "Jacky, hi babe what's up." Jacky smiled at Melody. "I just wanted to see you." Melody smiled and let him in kissing him after closing the door.

"Are you okay baby? I know you've been upset since I took you to Ronnie's" Melody sighed and looked at Jacky, "I wish I wouldn't have had an abortion." Jacky smiled sadly at her, "Maybe it was for the best, what if you didn't and never would have met me." Melody sighed he had a good point. If she would have had a baby back then, she wouldn't have got hooked to drugs, she wouldn't have stolen the heroin, and wouldn't have gone to rehab. "I'll tell you what, I'm not saying right now but maybe sometime in the near future we'll try to have a baby." Melody smiled up at Jacky, "Really?" He smiled back. "Really." She hugged him tight, "I love you so much." She whispered. "I love you more." He said back softly.

The thought of trying to have a baby with Jacky excited Melody, She didn't care that it wasn't right away as long as it was for sure going to happen soon. As she was thinking about what Jacky had said, was he planning on proposing? Did he want to get married first or did he want to get married in general? Melody decided it was best not to ask and just to let things play out on their own. Mean while as Melody was thinking, Jacky was talking to the one person who knows Melody better than she knows her self; her mom. "She really likes black and pink mixed together, i remember there was thing ring she saw and she fell in love with it. If i find a picture i'll send it. I am so excited for you guys." Her mom said excitedly. "So you really think she'll accept?" Jacky asked. "Oh my goodness yes, she's been planning her wedding day since she was five. Now a rockstar wasn't exactly what her father and I wanted for her, but I've learned to except my daughter and her choices. As long as they're good ones, and you Jacky are one of the good ones." Jacky smiled at her mothers approval. "What about Melody's father?" Jacky asked. "Oh, Melody hasn't spoken to Harry since her announcement of pregnancy back in '07. I haven't spoken to him since our divorce." Jacky sighed, "She's never mentioned that.. How do you think she's dealing with that? I know all of her feelings about her abortion came rushing in..Do you think reconnecting with Ronnie drew up those memories too?" Meldoy's mom hummed as she thought, "I'm not really sure. It's definitely a possibility..She was never close with him, or me. She was always so distant but I still made time to spend with her. Harry not so much. He was always too hard on her, I of course had to go along with it." Jacky thought for a moment, "I don't think its bothering her to much. I think because she wasn't close to him she brushed it way as nothing." he said. "I agree."

After Jacky got off of the phone with Melody's mother he drove to the jewelry store, he looked around until he saw the perfect ring, he knew it probably wasn't the ring Melody had fallen in love with years ago, but it was perfect for her. He walked over to a jeweler and asked for help. "Ah this one. Your lady must be special." The man said as he packaged the ring in a velvet box. Jacky smiled and responded, "She is." He paid for the ring and left he had a whole lot of planning to do for the special night.

After two hours of thinking Jacky finally got the idea in his head he was going to take her to the place where they first met. Jacky and Melody had met not so gracefully at a park, Melody was baby sitting for a friend when Jacky had lost Ronnie's dog charlie. Charlie had ran up to Melody who was by the swings pushing her friends daughter. They talked for awhile and then swapped numbers before Melody left. It was funny to think how all of that was close to two years ago. He smiled as he knocked on Melody's door, he didn't care what she was wearing he just wanted her to say yes. "Hey babe." She said after realizing who it was. "Can you come some where with me?" he asked. Melody bit her lip, she was wearing black yoga shorts and a tank top. She had her hair in a messy bun and no makeup on. She didn't want to leave but the look on Jacky's face sucked her in. "Yeah let me get me shoes on." She turned around and slipped on her converse, after that she picked up her apartment keys and locked the door behind her before walking to Jacky's car. She was oblivious to what was happening. She just thought Jacky was taking her to Ronnie's again, or maybe his house. She didn't know but she was soon to find out.

When the car came to a stop she looked up and out of the window, "Jacky.." She whispered. "Why are we here?" She asked as she got out of the car following Jacky to the swings. " I just thought we should spend some time together." he said Melody sat on a swing and Jacky began to push her. "I remember when you lost Charlie here.. He came to me making you follow, that dog must have been a match maker.. Whose dog was that anyway.. I remember you said it was a friends." Jacky laughed. "charlie is Ronnie's dog. "How ironic." she said. All of a sudden Jacky stopped pushing her, confused Melody looked behind her and gasped at what she saw.

She saw Jacky on one knee with the velvet box open in his hands. She got off of the swing and stood in front of him, "Melody i know it's only been close to two years now, but i know you're who I want to be with for the rest of my life. I love you with all of my heart, I wouldn't want to spend my life with anyone else. Please, will you marry me?" Melody put a hand over her mouth to muffle the happy sobs coming from her mouth.

"Yes." Jacky smiled and slipped the ring on her finger.
