Light seeped through her eyelids, causing her to furrow her brows and squirm away. Voices reached her ears.

"Shouldn't she have woken up by now?"

Hunter's voice.

"You took tons of blood Hunter, she'll need more than a single days sleep to recover. She's absolutely tiny!"

Wait, was that Miss Willy? What did she mean "a days sleep"?

She began to pry open her eyelids, feeling the heaviness of them, as if they were merely bags of sand.

Her eyes fluttered open, but squeezed shut a second later, the burning sun scorching her eyes. She shifted.

"Hey, she's awake!"

Hunter's voice again.

She fluttered open her eyes, trying to push herself up. She whimpered at a throbbing headache. A large hand placed itself oh her shoulder, gently pushing her down. Her eyes turned up to find Hunter beside her.

"Stay down." He ordered.

She nodded, resting her head onto the soft pillows.

Wait a minute.

She slowly rose, looking around and widening her eyes.

She laid on her master's bed, the green covers draped over her body.

"Lay down Candy." He said sternly.

She swallowed before hesitantly lowering herself once again. She looked forward, Miss Willy standing at the foot of the bed. She pinched her chin.

"It's quite strange you were able to wake up so soon. I had thought that you would at least need two days to regain conscience. You're quite the tough cookie, going through three feedings and still be able to wake up so quickly."

Candy shrugged. Willy turned to Hunter.

"Now, make sure to give her those iron pills tonight if she doesn't show anymore signs of recovery."

He nodded. Picking up her bag, Willy bowed deeply, draping an arm across her chest.

"Have a good day Hunter."

Candy noticed his eye twitch, only to shake his head, pointing towards the door.

"Leave us." He said, his voice laced with gentle authority.

She bowed again, stepping out the door. They were now left in silence, Candy and Hunter both staring at the wooden doors.

"Hey." Hunter's voice spoke as he sat on the edge of the bed. She looked at him, tilting her head. "Why did you push me away?"

She tilted her head, confused with the strange sentence. It then dawned on her. Memories of the party played into her thoughts, Tanner, the fight, and tackling Hunter before he could kill Tanner. She felt a small tap on her head, making her flinch. She looked up and saw a thick, purple, ringed notebook. She took it in her hands, staring at it. A small pencil was placed on the plain cover. She looked up at Hunter.

"It's to communicate until I find a way to make you talk." He explained.

She nodded, flipping open to the first page, writing and handing it to him once done. He read what was written.

"I pushed you away because even if he touched me without your consent, that was no reason for death, there was no reason for you to pick such a fight since I am merely a pet and not your real girlfriend."

He rose a brow, looking at her.

"What are you talking about?" He asked.

She tilted her head.

He shook his head, closing his eyes and reopening them to look at her as if saying 'What are you talking about?' He turned completely towards her.

"Candy...."

His next words stopped her heart.

"You are my real girlfriend."
