Chapter 1: The painful truth

"Hey, Missy!" I looked up and saw Vash. Standing behind him is the person occupying my mind. "Anong ginagawa mo dito?"

Nakaupo ako sa swing dito sa park. Wala kasi akong magawa sa bahay. "Naglalaro." I said. Tumawa si Vash. "Kayo, maglalaro din?"

"Oo. Gusto mong sumali? Hide and seek. Pag-nanalo ka, sayo na si Zeck." He said grinning.

"Gago." Sabi ni Zeck.

"Gusto ko yan!" Natawa ng malakas si Vash. Si Zeck ay napailing-iling.

"Bahala kayo diyan. I'll go ahead." I stood up quickly and grabbed his arm.

"Dito ka muna! Sige na." Tumingin siya sa kin. Naglalambing na kumapit pa ko sa braso niya. Baka puntahan lang niya si Ella! Ayoko! "Please?"

He sighed and nodded. "Fine." I smiled and pulled him to the nearest bench. Magkatabi kaming nakaupo. Nakakapit pa rin ako sa braso niya. Di rin naman siya nagrereklamo.

"I really can't understand, you two." Napatingin kami kay Vash. I raised my eyebrow. "Ang gulo."

"Anong magulo?" I asked.

"Kayong dalawa." Umupo siya sa tabi ko. Lalo akong sumiksik kay Zeck. I even leaned my head on his shoulder. "Para kayong magsyota niyan."

"Bagay naman kami, diba?"

"Oo naman."

"Did you hear that, Zeck? Bagay tayong dalawa. Kaya tayo na lang." He smiled a bit and pinched my cheek gently.

"Puro kalokohan ang nasa isip mo. Mag-focus ka na lang sa studies mo. Doon may makukuha ka pa." I pouted. Why does he treat me like a kid?

"You don't take me seriously."

"Should I?"

"Of course!"

"I have to go." I had no choice but to let him go. Nakakainis siya. Hindi niya ako sineseryoso. Sinundan ko siya ng tingin Napabuntong hininga na lang ako.

"Lalim non ah."

"He doesn't really take me seriously, does he?" Sumandig siya sa upuan at tumingin sa langit.

"I think he doesn't want to."

My forehead knotted. "And why is that?"

He smirked. "Because no one wants a complicated life."

'What?"

He stood up and put his hands inside his pockets. "I better go."

"Wait!"

He raised his hand without looking back. "See you around."

"Vash!"

He didn't look back anymore. I breathed out harshly. Nakakainis silang dalawa!

"Luke! Lake! Stop running around." My twin nephews are very hyper. Nakakapagod silang alagaan. My brother and his wife went out to spend some quality time together. I volunteered to look after the twins. Which I am starting to regret as it is. Don't get me wrong, I love them to bits but their energy is too much. Kaya siguro walang nagtatagal sa mga yaya nila!

"Aunt Mish!!"

They are so adorable. Medyo bulol pa sila. They ran towards me and wrapped their chubby arms around me. I smiled and kissed them. "You want something, don't you?'
