Maddie

I was walking down the shore of the lake just across my house. I picked up a few shiny pebbles and chucked them in the water.

It was so hot out and I was planning on going in but I forgot my damn towel.

A boy with blond hair was walking in my direction. I wasn't interested so I turned back up the hill and reached the grass.

I grabbed my bike and walked it down the road. I heard someone running behind me. It was the blond.

"hey." he stopped next to me. "I'm river."

"how ironic" I said staring ahead.

"I go to your school. I'm in your science." he said.

"oh sorry I didn't realize. I'm maddie" I said shaking his hand.

"you tutored me" he said shocked.

"oh my gosh I'm sorry" I said laughing. "I don't have great memory."

He grabbed my face and kissed me. I kissed back. To my own surprise. I didn't think I had feelings for him

I knew exactly who he was but I just didn't want to let him know I wanted a relationship. And I didn't but I didn't want to lead him on.

"wow" I said as he pulled away.

"will you go to the dance with me" he asked.

"yeah why not." I said with a big smile
