jess was always having a hard time at home. after rory he was always a little hurt. i have had feelings for him for a while but i never told him because at first i was afraid but then he started dating rory. when they broke he still talked about her like she was the love of his life so it wasnt good timing.

i called him while i was at home after school on friday. "hey jess, wanna go to your uncles diner?" i asked hoping he'd say yes. "no i dont wanna see rory but ill come over." he answered.

"okay text me when your near to let you in." i said then we hung up. i think now is a good time to tell him. i dont think im gonna have another time. and something is telling me to go now.

'hey im here' he texted so i jogged down the stairs. "hey!" i exclaimed as i hugged him. "hey how are you doing?" he asked as we havent hung out much since he transferred schools. "im good. lets go up stairs to my room." i replied.

we ran up and sat on the ground. "do i have to tell you something." i said as i pushed the hair out of my face and touched his arm. "whats up?" he asked. "so i've wanted to tell you. ive had feelings for you." i said hesitating. he turned pale as if id just told him a relative past away.

"whats wrong!?" i asked worried. "this isnt the right time." he said quietly avoiding eye contact. "i just want to make you feel okay. why isnt it the right time?" i asked as i thought it would be a good time since he told me he was over rory.

"im- i have a girlfriend."
