Nora's POV- Flashback to July 23, 2017

I looked up at my dad as he put his arm around me.

"You're mad"

"I'm annoyed" I corrected.

He smiled and gave me a light squeeze.

"You know how your sister is"

I sighed.

"Ella is more mature than her, and she's much younger than Josie" I pointed out.

Josie was 29 (almost 30) years old, and Ella (and Theo) had just turned 17.

"Just this once, she could have minded her own business though" I stated.

"How long have you been seeing this mystery guy?"

"About a month" I replied.

He hummed.

"Yeah, this is too soon"

Exactly!

"Don't get me wrong, I want to meet his guy but do you know what it means for you?"

I nodded.

"It means he might want me to meet his parents soon," I mumbled.

All because my sister would not mind her own business.

"I heard the twins met him"

"He was there to visit Corey, not me. Ella and Theo just so happened to be over" I stated.

"What did they think of him?"

"That's a question you'd have to ask them" I answered.

He chuckled.

"They refuse to answer any questions about him"

"Because they value my privacy" I sassed.

My phone chimed as Josie approached us.

"Ella, I told you to cover up that eye"

Our youngest sister was sporting a black eye at the moment.

"Calm down, I brought sunglasses to cover it up"

Josie pursed her lips a bit before nodding.

"I want a family picture for the office"

As I followed my family to one of the photographers, I pulled my phone out of my pocket to read the text I had received.

🔵: Where are you? I'm on my way out

I replied,

Taking a family picture 💀

I put my phone in my pocket as I approached my family where I was positioned in between Josie and Theo. Ella stood in front of me, and I was told to put a hand on her shoulder. Dad was standing next to Josie, and mom was standing next to Theo.

"Smile"

As the picture was taken everyone on the field heard,

"NORA!"

I waited until the photographer set the camera down to turn towards the direction where I heard my name. A grinning Cody was skipping his way over towards us.

"Hey, Cody" I greeted.

He said nothing and wrapped his arms around me.

"Long time no see"

About 2 weeks.

"No, I'm not her boyfriend"
