Nora's POV- July 2019

I adjusted the duffle bag strap on my shoulder as I stepped out of the elevator. Chris was getting discharged tonight, so instead of heading home to shower and eat, I went home to get him some clothes.

"Starting on the paperwork already?" I asked as I approached Mary.

She looked away from the nurse and smiled.

"Yes"

I gave her a hug and kiss on the cheek.

"Go right on in"

I gave her one last squeeze before excusing me to the room.

"Right on time"

I offered her a smile before looking at Chris as I made my way over to Noel.

"How are you feeling?" I asked.

He no longer had any wires and needles connected to his body.

"Sleepy"

I looked at the nurse as Noel gave me a hug.

"No headaches, or nausea"

An overall good day.

"That's good to hear," I said as Noel made her way out of the room.

"Nora can help me change"

I nodded as the nurse looked at me.

"You're in good hands then"

Chris looked at me as he leaned his head back against the pillow once the nurse left the room.

"Hi"

I smiled.

"Hey" I greeted.

"You look beautiful"

"Thank you," I said accepting his compliment.

I reached for the remote and lowered the bed.

"How are your arms feeling?" I wondered.

"Incredibly sore"

I figured.

"Swing your legs this way" I instructed.

Once he was sitting up, with his legs hanging from the bed he took a hold of my hands.

"Can I get a kiss?"

"Of course you can," I said letting go of his hands and cupping his face.

He laughed after I gave him a smooch, and proceeded to kiss his cheeks. After that, I just held his face and took a look at his eyes. His eyes squinted as he smiled at me.

"If I didn't know you any better, I'd assume you were looking lovingly into my eyes"

I smiled as I gently scruffed his beardless cheek, something I did to show affection to him.

"Your eyes aren't as dilated as they were before," I told him.

I gave him one last kiss before letting go of his face.

"So I brought you one of your long sleeved compressions shirts since I figured you'd be sore," I told him.

I pulled it out of the duffle bag and helped him remove the gown he had on.

"Should I shave my chest?"

Parts of his chest hair had been shaved off in order to connect specific wires on him.

"I mean, it will grow back" I noted as I helped him slip on the shirt.

"Noel made fun of it"

Of course, she did.

"Did you bring shorts?"

"I did" I confirmed showing him a pair of shorts and sweats.

"The shorts are better, I can wear them to bed"

He normally just slept in his boxers, but okay.

"My legs are a bit shaky"

That was normal since he had been on bed rest.

"I got you" I assured him.

He steadied himself up, and pulled his shorts up. As he went to sit back down, his stomach growled, incredibly loud.

"Hungry?" I wondered.

"Starving"

"Did you not eat dinner?" I asked.

"No"

That's why.

"Is it safe to come in?"

"Pretty sure you've seen Chris in just his boxers countless of times" I noted.

"I'll giggle at his patchy hairy chest"

She stepped inside and lifted her arm.

"I bring a jello cup!"

On her palm was a small cup of green jello.

"Here you go, loser"

Chris took the jello and spoon.

"When can we go?"

She plopped down on the chair.

"You need to sign a few forms"

He nodded and opened the jello cup.

"How are your feet not killing you, Nori?"

"Oh, they are," I told her.

I was just a firm believer of keeping the shoes I left the house with on until I got back home.

"Take them off then"

Chris chuckled.

"Nora would much rather crawl then take them off"

I nodded agreeing with his statement.

"And how do you know this?"

Chris looked at his little sister.

"She told me this during our very first date"

We all turned towards the door when clapping was heard. The nurse was here with some papers for Chris to sign off on in order to check himself out of the hospital. A little more than halfway, I grabbed the duffle bag and my purse.

"I will go get the car," I said before giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.

It took about 5 minutes to get my car and drive it to the patient drop off section where Chris and his family were waiting. Noel took the passenger seat next to me, while Chris and his mom sat in the back.

"You never let your car get slightly dirty"

Don't remind me, Christopher.

"I'll wash it tomorrow," I told him.

He nodded and adjusted the sunglasses on the bridge of his nose.

"Is the radio on?"

"Yeah, does it bother you?" I asked.

I could turn off the radio.

"No, is that the Jonas Brothers?"

I smiled.

"Yeah, they got back together" I answered.

"Oh, cool"

"Let's get home," I said.
