-Stop! Don't move!-Kai said.
Thea looked down and saw a small drop of blood right by her.
Kai put the second grocery bag on the counter and came up to her.
-I'm sorry; I didn't mean to startle you.-He said.
He grabbed her arms and took her to a chair.
A little trail of blood followed her.
Kai quickly took a first aid kit from a shelf and kneeled next to her.
He took her foot and carefully and slowly, took her sock off.
-I can do it myself, thank you.-Thea said, pulling her leg away, but Kai held her ankle tight.
-Just be quiet for a minute, please.-Kai said, irritated.
He took a wet cloth and washed the blood away. He then took a cotton pad and poured some alcohol over it.
-This will sting.-He warned and he started dabbing the top of wound.
Thea sat there calmly, not making a sound.
Kai put a little bit of ointment on and put a polka dot band aid on.
-You're good to go. –He said, crumbling the used things in his hand.
He threw the garbage away and put the box back in its place. He then took a broom and cleaned all the pieces of the plate and threw them in the waste basket.
-Are you okay?-He asked, crouching in front of her.
-Y-yeah.-Thea stammered. –Thanks.-She said looking down and tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear.
-I'm sorry for scaring you. I didn't want to do that.-He said.
Thea grinned.
-It was sort of funny.-She shrugged.
-Not if you get hurt.-Kai said.
Thea blushed.
-I'm fine, really. Thank you.-She smiled.
-No problem.-Kai stood up.
-I'll, um, be going now.-Thea said, getting up. She winced but quickly covered it with a smile.
-I'll carry you up if you need to.-Kai offered.
-It's okay. I'll hop.-She smiled and hopped on one foot to the stairs.
When she was about two feet away from them, she slipped and she started falling backwards.
Thankfully, Kai was behind her the whole entire time and her back never felt the floor.
-Thanks.-Thea laughed.
-Yeah, I'd rather carry you and you won't get hurt anymore.-Kai said.
Thea blushed and shrugged.
-Okay, whatever.-She said trying to be nonchalant.
Kai picked her up bride style and carried her up the stairs.
Thea never thought it took so long to get up the stairs. She could hear her heartbeat and was scared that Kai could it too.
If only she knew, that Kai was scared of the same thing too.
