I woke up and went down for breakfast, seeing several men, naked, at the table. My brothers were at least wearing their underwear. I was wearing a pair of really short sleep shorts, and a crop top that hung off of one shoulder. I sat down next to Jay who gave me a look, but no comment. My brothers seemed uncomfortable having me around so many naked men. Excuse me, beasts. I could feel when Mr. Z came into the dinning room. I looked at him and saw he was completely dressed much to my disappointment. He grabbed my hair and used it to tilt my head back, and he kissed me in front of the others. This kiss was much different than the lust filled ones we've shared. This one was claiming me, ensuring the others knew to stay away. "You'll be going with me to the shop today," He said against my lips before pulling away. "You three have to earn your keep and you'll be doing it by working in my store."

I gave him a salute, "Aye aye captain." After eating I went upstairs and got ready. I was on my way down the stairs when my phone began to ring. "You've got Alanna Zio," I said.

"I see you're staying in New Orleans Ms. Zio," Elder Elise Ulric said. I hated the woman with everything in me. The bitch was known for leaving whoever she was working with to die if it meant she got to live. She was cold hearted and a bitch to the core. "I'm investigating what killed Dario," I told her. "While fucking one of the Founders," she asked. "I haven't found the Founder you sent me after. Now the man I am fucking is in my personal time so you need to fuck off and keep your nose out of it," I snapped at her.

She gave a huff of anger and annoyance, "Dont you dare take that tone with me." "Is there a reason you called," I asked her. "I wanted to inform you that as of right now, you and your brothers are being temporarily stationed in New Orleans to investigate the increase of creatures coming through the tears. We will be paying you for your investigation and the hoard of Ice bringers you dealt with last night, and your brothers will also receive payment for the Breath Snatchers they dealt with the night prior. You will receive payment each week you are in New Orleans, and will receive a bonus for every creature you eliminate during your stay. We expect a video journal from each of you, reporting your day and what you've found so far," She explained to me.

I nodded, "I will inform them." I then hung up on her, not having anything more to say to her. I went back to the dining room to see my brothers and tell them what's going on. "What about mom," Jay asked me. "I haven't called her yet, but something tells me she already knows and is probably working on a care package," I told them.

Suddenly Jaden's phone rang. "Hey mom," he said when he answered. "Yeah they're right here." He was quiet for a moment then nodded, "Uh yeah I'll tell them. We love you too." He then hung up. "Mom says she hates you and wishes you both go fuck yourselves," he said with a smile. Jay and I rolled our eyes before Gibs smacking him in the back of the head. "What did she really say," Jay asked him. "That she is going to live with her sister while we're here, and she will have something sent to us soon, declaring we give her the address to wherever she was sending it to her by this weekend. And for some reason, she loves you both as well," Jaden told us.

I nodded, then saw Mr. Z waiting for me. I said bye then left them with the rest of the men.

At the store the guy who worked behind the counter seemed thrown off that I was going to be working there. After a dip into his mind, I could see he saw me as a threat for his job. Apparently it was something that was a trend Mr. Z had, have the current employee train the newbie to take their job. That was not something I was wanting to do. I probably wasn't even going to get paid for working here since technically me working here was paying for me living with him. It was whatever though, since I was getting paid to hunt the creatures coming through the tears.

Mr. Z went into his office after telling Conner to train me. Conner gave me a fake smile and began to show me the books. I kept checking his mind to make sure he was showing me the right way. For hours we went over everything until Mr. Z came out and told him he could leave for lunch. Mr. Z leaned against the counter, arms crossed as he looked out of the window. Neither of us said anything as I grabbed a piece of scrap paper and a pencil. I began to draw a sketch of the statue in the park, feeling bored.
