I was woken up to a hand on my shoulder. "Honey, its seven in the morning," My mother said. I looked around and saw I was at the dinning table, my laptop in front of me, my papers and pictures in separate piles. "Why didn't Z wake me up earlier," I whispered looking at her. "Because he's been out since you started on this, trying to track down that thing that hurt those vampires, and you," she told me as she gestured to the table.

"Oh," I said. I ran a hand through my hair, as I sighed. She sat down next to me, "Do you want to talk about it?" I shook my head, "I've talked plenty and it doesn't help how I am." I'm damaged and cant be repaired, simple as that. "I'll get better though, I promise." I did before and I will do it again. I was caught off guard by what happened down there. This time I will be prepared.

I cleaned the table up as Mathis, I think his name was, came in. He raised a dark brow as he watched me. "Didn't sleep," he asked me. "Not really," I said while shutting down my laptop. "What's up," I asked him. "I wanted to ask you about the thing that attacked you back in New York. If we know what it looks like, we can better look for it," he told me. He had a old French accent. Many of the men were old. He also didn't speak entirely proper. His hands were thickly calloused and covered in scars. If I had my history right, Mathis, which probably isn't his birth name, was a slave in France during the sixteen hundreds. The French loved their slaves during that point in time. More so than the Americans. They had more slave voyagers and slaves transported than many other countries during that time period. From the thickness of the accent I could tell he was one that was born and raised in France, not one that ended up transported over seas with accent and cultural differences.

I made my sketch book appear in my hands and held it out to him, "I drew it many times. No need for me to give a description." He opened it and looked through it. "Milady, are you sure you can handle this," he asked me, looking horrified at the images held in the book. My memories brought to image on paper.

"I am tired of everyone asking me if I can handle this," I snapped with a growl. "Next one that does, will regret it." He held a hand up in surrender, "My apologies for offending you milady." I sighed, my anger leaving, "Its not that I'm offended, Mathis. I promise." I left the dinning room to go to my room.

I changed into one of Z's shirts before crawling into bed, letting sleep take me instantly.

When I woke up Z's arms were wrapped around me tightly. I heard him growl softly when I tried to get up. "Z, I have work to do," I mumbled. He only tightened his grip. I sighed and used my magic to teleport to the closet. He snarled and I rolled my eyes as I grabbed some jeans from the closet. "If you dont get back in bed with me I will shred all of your clothes," he threatened me. "Do that and you will go a month without getting laid," I threatened back. I received a growl as a reply, but he didn't try to get me to get back into bed with him.

That thing was still out there and I refuse to just sit here and do nothing. These males aren't the only ones who can hunt. I got dressed then went downstairs. Many of those who were living in the house were in the dinning room, eating what I was gonna assume as dinner, meaning I slept the day away.  I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and when I closed it, I saw my mother standing there with a plate that had a grilled bacon, ham, and pepper-jack sandwich, with a side of homemade curly fries. "You need to eat before you go running off to hunt," she told me. I took the plate and kissed her cheek. I went to the dinning room and sat down. All eyes were on me, as if they were all assessing me.

I sighed, "Okay so I guess its gonna be straight business." I gestured with a hand, "Ask whatever questions you have. I'll answer them all. This will be your only chance." "How do you plan to hunt it down," Cherif asked me. "It has no scent, nor does it leave any residue behind to be traced. I will have to go back to the tunnels and see what I can find," I told them.

"Can you handle that milady," Axel asked me. "I can and I will," I said firmly. He nodded and didn't say anything else.

"Do you blame yourself for what happened," Silver asked me. I wasn't expecting him to ask me anything. What was even more shocking was it was concern I heard in his voice. I nodded, "I do. Had I focused my powers better I might have killed it. Instead I was fueled by the need to simply get out and get to safety. It will be a much different situation this time." This time it will be killed.

We all fell silent while we ate. I had just finished when my phone, as well as Jay's, Jaden's, and Violet's phone set off a red alert alarm. We got up instantly and I grabbed Violet's shoulder and teleported us to where it was that caused the red alert. Violet gasped when we saw the Tear. It was large, sucking in the surrounding buildings like a black hole.

"Things have become much worse," Jaden stated as if it wasn't obvious. I looked around then noticed the hole only had a range of distance. "Violet, shift the ground to move the buildings away from it, but don't make it obvious," I told her. She nodded and used her element ability to move the ground.

Z, Axel, Talos, and Silver then appeared. "Shit," Talos cursed when he saw the Tear. I turned to Z, "I need the other Founders to go out and check the rest of the Tears around the city." He nodded and pulled his phone out. When the buildings were a safe distance from it, Axel went to try and put runes around it to protect humans from it, but it began to suck him in.

"Shit, I cant teleport out," He told us. Talos grabbed his hand, trying to pull him back. One by one, we had to make a chain as we were all getting sucked in. Violet used her element magic to cement her feet into the ground, but it wasn't enough. Jay had even tried to throw Jaden out of the range, but it was no use.

We got sucked in harshly, landing in a heap on the other side. The Tear then sealed behind us. "No," Violet screamed as she ran towards where it had been. "Fuck," she exclaimed while kicking the ground. I pushed myself off of Talos, who had cushioned my landing. "It's gonna be okay Violet, we just need to find another Tear," Jay reasoned easily. "Which could take years," Jaden told him. "We know nothing about this side of the Tear. Meaning we don't know where the other Tears are."

"I think it best we get out of the open," Silver suggested as he looked at something large in the distance. We all agreed and ran to a weird looking group of trees. The bark looked like it was made of dark ashes while the leaves were black as night. It was as if it was out of a horror movie. The sun was red and the sky a light gray color, and not a single cloud.

"I say we go through the next Tear we find, even if it takes us to Australia. We can easily get back home no matter where they take us," Violet suggested to us. I nodded in agreement. "Let's get moving," Z said. And so we did with none of us knowing which direction we should be going in.
