Author's Note: Dae is fourteen in these chapters going forward. I understand that's a giant time skip, I apologize. The first chapter is just for context. If you want more toddler Dae moments, I direct you to my One-Shot series called Create Together. Anyways! Please enjoy the rest of the book! And if you're a re-reader, there are some minor changes in the book going forward (Since I'm re-editing and fixing typos), can you spot them?

"Baby girl, it's time to get up," Chan announced softly, entering Dae's room. The girl in question grumbled a bit and turned away from the noise. Chan laughed, "You look like a mess when you wake up." Chan approached Dae and ruffled her hair.

Dae blinks her eyes open, finally fully away. She then pushed Chan lightly. "Shut up, you still love my morning mess."

Chan rolled his eyes, making sure Dae saw, "Sure, keep telling yourself that. Now hurry up and get ready: Breakfast is downstairs."

Dae looks at her clock: it's eight-thirty. She stretched to remove the last remains of sleep, then quickly got ready. She comes downstairs and grabs a portion of food; she sits at the huge table holding nine.

"Dae, as soon as we're done eating, We're going to head up to your room for school," Minho announces.

"Okay!' Dae cheers, "Sounds good. Then sniping after? Changbin?"

Changbin gives Dae a sharp nod. "We are also practicing combat."

Dae slouched in her chair. "Fantastic," she condemned.

"Problem?" Both Jisung and Changbin question.

Both of them teach her combat because they have little remorse for sensitivity. Seungmin was supposed to teach her, however, he found it too difficult emotionally.

"Nope, just the fact that you guys take personal pleasure in smashing my head into concrete." She grumbled.

"You guys did that?" Seungmin exclaimed. "I knew I should have continued to teach her combat!"

"It was one time!" Jisung exaggerates, rolling his eyes.

"It hurt like hell, though."

"So does getting shot," Hyunjin jumped in, "They're teaching you how to defend yourself when you join the mafia. Death is permanent."

The mood of Dae suddenly shifted; She hesitated abruptly and her eyes turned misty. "What if I don't want to be a part of the mafia when I'm older," She murmured, her now teary eyes fixed on the table. "I love you all... So, so much. But sometimes, I wish..." She pauses, contemplating her next words, "I wish you guys didn't adopt me."

Everyone goes silent at the sudden confession. Chan is the first to speak up. "Dae?"

Dae shakes her head, erasing all traces of her profound thoughts. "Never mind. I'll join the mafia; I'll be the best assassin and hacker the world has ever seen; I'll live your fantasy." She feigned excitement with a dry "Yay." Looking around, she finally takes note of the awkward aura she created. Standing up, she eyes Minho. "I'll be upstairs when you're ready."

Minho immediately stood up and walked with her. "I'm done too."

When it came time to teach Dae, it was significantly more uncomfortable than any other school day. Dae didn't talk much or even look Minho in the eye. She worked diligently on the math he gave her(Which was out of character for Dae. Usually, she would stall and fight her way out of doing math). However, when she becomes stuck on a problem, instead of giggling and asking Minho for help, she begins to cry.
