Welcome to my story! This is my first story on wattpad, and it is completely out of my imagination, so please no copywrite. You're totally free to write whatever you want in the comments, but it would be nice if you kept your negative comments to yourself. As I said before this is my first story, so there will be a lot of editing and experimenting with the chapters and characters. I've never done this type of thing before, so please, be patient.

Thanks!

Darkness.

That's all I see when I dream, except for the occasional scary face, or at least that's when I'm not having my nightmares. They come and go, but they're mostly the same, the day my pack, the Callisto pack, was attacked. We were in the park, and I was pushing my baby brother, max, on the swing when dad got a call that there was a rouge attack. He rushed us to the cellars, where the shelter was located. We were supposed to be safe, 'stay in the bunker' they said 'it will all be okay' they said. Then they disappeared, the warriors left, my father amongst them. Before he ran to the battlefield, he kissed my mother and hugged me and max. He promised me he would return, I knew when my mother collapsed on the floor crying my father's name, that their mate bond had broken. He had died. He had broken his promise. The doors had slammed open, rogue soldiers flooding through, I tried to pull my mother up, to get her to run, but she stayed sobbing on the floor. So I left, my father wasn't the only one who made a promise.

My parents died, leaving me to raise my baby brother. He was only one at the time, I was fourteen. The face that terrifies me is the one that murdered my father. The rogue king, they called him. His pitch black eyes and dark hair still haunt my memory, at least he was slaughtered like the rest of them. After my father died, my mother wouldn't live without him, I lost her that day as well. The few of us that survived ran into the surrounding woods, most of us didn't get too far. They killed us like they killed our pack.

I fled with the rest of the woman and children, clutching my baby brother as our lives depended on it, because, well they did. My mother's screams echoed through the narrow corridor, my tears streaming down my face. I couldn't help but think of them, my mother, my father. They would be together, that's all I thought as we escaped. The moon was the only light illuminating our path. Until I saw his glowing eyes, they were black as night, but somehow I could see them clearly in the dark. There was no escape from his cruel torture and his sadistic smile, we may have made it out of our territory but he was playing a game, and winning.

How I managed to escape is beyond me. All I remember is the howls and pained screams of my pack mates as I ran. I ran until I couldn't feel my legs, and then I kept running. Throwing my shoes off into the woods to throw off my scent. Finally, as the sun came up I had reached unclaimed territory. Sitting under a tree I had unwrapped my shirt from my baby brother, who was sleeping peacefully in my arms. He would never meet our parents, he would never get the experience of being in a pack, surrounded by family. And that's when the shock wore off. My body racked with sobs and I clutched my baby brother tightly and he began to squirm in my arms. That's when I decided to stop crying, I decided I would be strong. Max needed me. I had kept walking and found an underground bunker. It was old, old enough that whoever lived there before was dead. Two bedrooms a bathroom and a kitchen. Although it was dirty, there was furniture, and I couldn't help but think the moon goddess rendered us this. All of my family funds were available to me because my parents were gone. I made the bunker as liveable as possible for us, even repainted the walls.

But even four years later, the emptiness I felt in my heart, from the lack of my family and a pack was unbearable. Max is five and I'm 18, and still, I miss them, my parents, my family.

I think a part of me died with them.
