I just realized that I labeled this as the seventeenth chapter. It's not. Oops

I had to repost so...

Riley

I was woken up by the feeling of hands running through my hair. Slowly opening my eyes i was faced with Dylan's broad chest. He hadn't realized I was up and continued to braid pieces of my hair into small sections. Sighing I moved further into his chest, letting my eyes fall closed again. Before I could drift to sleep, Dylan spoke.

"I know you're awake" he said, chuckling "we need to get up, my parents are coming home today" he had explained to me that his parents had left for vacation right after they had helped me with that nightmare. They were hesitant to leave, but Dylan insisted that they go on their trip.

We got out of bed and made our way to the living room where Olivia and lewis were sitting on the couch watching a movie with popcorn, it was 8 in the morning. Dylan grabbed my hand and pulled me to the couch, clearing his throat as we sat down.

Olivia turned her head and squealed when she was me, trying to pry herself out of her mate's arms, but failing.

"Let go of me you oaf, I want to hug my best friend" she whined. Giggling I got off of Dylan's lap and sat next to him, tucked in the crook of his arm. Olivia finally stopped struggling and settled next to her mate, arms crossed and a pout on her face. She soon forgot about the movie and turned to me.

"So" she said "what do you want to do today?" I just shrugged, not quite sure if I was up to something to active today. I was about to speak when I was interrupted by the doorbell ringing.

Suddenly the warmth my mate provided was gone and I saw him walking out the door and down the hall. Olivia looked at lewis, both of their eyes glazed over, and got up to leave to the kitchen. It was just me and lewis left, and the way he was staring at me was making me shift in my seat.

"I wanted to apologize for the way I acted when we first met, luna" that surprised me, I was not expecting him to even speak to me, let alone apologize. Before I could say anything he continued.

"I would have never been so harsh had I known you were Dylan's mate, I'm also very sorry for avoiding you while you've been here. I didn't want to make you uncomfortable" I was speechless, I didn't know how to respond. I just assumed he wasn't talking to me because he didn't like me. Finally catching my train of thought I responded.

"It's alright, you were only doing your job. And its Riley"

"What?" he questioned

"You don't have to call me luna, its just Riley" I said smiling, he smiled back and nodded.

"Thank you" he murmured, seeming grateful. Olivia came back in with Alina in tow, holding to big bows of more popcorn.

"I thought we could have a movie day, Mel is coming down and you probably want to wake up max yourself" she said making her way to the couch. My smile grew as I thought of us hanging out, it had been a while since I had done this. I sprinted off the couch and ran to max's room, stopping when I got to his door.

He was snuggled in his blanket, and I felt bad waking him up, but I knew he would be happy to watch movies all day. Slowly making my way to his bed, I crouched on the floor and shook him gently. He looked surprised when he opened his eyes, but it was quickly replaced with happiness.

"What are you doing here ri ri?" he asked, his voice still groggy from sleep.

"We're having a movie day downstairs and I thought you might want to join us" he nodded quickly and hopped out of his bed, taking the small blanket with him. Grabbing his hand we went back down to the living room, all the lights were off and the big flat screen tv was lit up with all types of movies. Mel came in and sat down next to Alina, taking the bowl of popcorn from her lap

"What are we watching" she asked, Olivia turned to look at her, eyebrows raised, and snorted,

"Disney, obviously".

Ten hours later, seven large bowls of popcorn finished, and four check ups from Lewis and Dylan, who apparently had pack matters to attend to, we were into our ninth movie. Which was the little mermaid.

As we were reaching the end of the movie, Dylan came in and sat next to me on the plush couch, taking up half my butt space. I rolled my eyes and simply leaned into him, knowing that he wasn't going to move.

"Hey so my parents are getting here in ten minutes, I thought you would want to know" he whispered, so quietly I almost didn't hear. His parents were coming, in ten minutes. And I looked like I rolled out of bed and onto the couch. My hair was a mess, I was still in Dylans t-shirt and shorts, and there was popcorn everywhere. We might have had a bit of an argument about what our fifth movie would be.

As if reading my mind he added "you look beautiful and they'll love you, don't worry"

"I can't meet your parents looking like this, I'm a mess!" I snapped quietly, to which he replied by pulling me closer than before, so now I was half on his lap.

"Riley, they've already met you, you were just asleep. And besides, I promise you they won't care that you're wearing my shirt and half the popcorn bowl." I huffed and stuck my face in his chest, so he wouldn't see the blush creeping up my cheeks.

I heard the front door open and a loud female voice called from the hall.

"Babies were home! Where are you guys?" that must be his mother, Nichole.

"We're in the living room" Alina hollered back, getting up from her seat to greet her parents. Dylan got up as well, bringing me with him and took my hand in his. Just then a woman walked into the room. She was about 5"7 and had auburn hair and striking green eyes, she was absolutely gorgeous. Next to her was a man, about 6"4, he had dark brown hair and brown eyes, he was also extremely handsome. Now I know where Dylan got his good looks.

"Oh it's so nice to finally meet you" I heard, before I was pulled into a bone crushing hug. Nichole pulled away and held me by my shoulders, eyeing me up and down with an award winning smile.

"You're so beautiful! I'm sorry we didn't get to meet sooner, maverick and I had planned this trip and Dylan insisted we go even though he knew we would want to meet you." she said, pulling me into another hug.

"Mom let go you're crushing her" I heard with a few laughs before she finally released me from her iron grip.

"Sorry about her, I'm maverick, it's a pleasure to meet you" Dylan's father said, giving me a firm but gentle handshake, a much different approach than his mate. I already loved his parents and I had just met them, I was also relieved that they didn't hate me.

After I had introduced max to Nichole, we decided that us girls would help Nichole make dinner. maverick and Dylan decided that they wanted to watch football, so after begging us and saying they would make dinner tomorrow, so they went to watch their game while we started making food. Leo joined them at one point, and when we served dinner I was smiling from ear to ear.

My family was here, with me, and I was finally happy.
