Hey there. I'm back, long-time no speak. Does that make sense? Anyway, I wanted to apologize for my tardiness, an update is way overdue. Thank you to anyone who stayed with me while I was missing. I really appreciate it.

Riley

The four of us piled into a white convertible, Olivia driving and Mel in the passenger's seat. Before I could even put my seatbelt on, the car lurched forward and drove down the road. The wind was blowing my hair all over the place and the trees around us were all a green blur. The sky was a brilliant blue, no clouds in sight. I lay my head back against the seat and closed my eyes, thinking of all the things that had happened to me in the last 24 hours. I lost max in the woods, had gotten captured by the most powerful and feared pack in America, the alpha of the so called pack turned out to be my mate, max and I moved in with my mate, and now I was going to the mall with his sisters and his betas mate to go shopping.

Me, shopping.

Who knew.

I was snapped from my thoughts when Olivia called out that we arrived. We all got out of the car and made our way into the huge mall. As we entered I stared in awe, the ceilings were high and were made of glass, the floors were a bright white tile and stores covered the lengths of the walls. Humans and wolves alike roamed in and out of the open doors, carrying bags of clothing, mothers with bags of toys, fathers holding their daughter's hands while they ate. Alina grabbed my hand and dragged me to a bench, with Mel and Olivia following.

"Ok, game plan" she said, turning to us. "We have both Lewis's and Dylan's credit cards, and our own. I'm thinking we split up for now and meet at the food court in... three hours." the girls nodded in agreement and Alina added, "I'll take Riley for now and we'll switch later."

And so we were off. Alina took me to every store we passed, making me try on and buy anything I even looked at. I didn't want to spend too much of Dylan's money so I refrained from looking interested in most of the clothing. After three hours of wandering in and out of stores, we had seven bags of stuff for me and four bags for Alina, she even insisted on buying me a phone, though I told her I had no use for one. I was mentally and physically exhausted. My legs ached and my head hurt from the continuous music pounding through the mall speakers. Alina however, was smiling and pulled me into another store grabbing the first pair of jean shorts she saw and held them up to me. "These would look so cute on you! And they're your size!" she squealed, and put them in the shopping bag provided by the store.

Another 20 minutes later we were walking to the food court to meet Mel and Olivia. They were seated by a table scrolling through their phones, Mel looked up and her mouth dropped open, probably at the amount of stuff Alina had bought for the both of us.

"Alina! What did you do to her, she looks like she's about to fall over" she accused, rushing out of her seat to help take some bags from my arms.

"What are you talking about? She barely let me buy anything for her! I would have gotten more but-"

"Shush" Olivia interrupted. "Do you smell that?" she asked in a whisper. I sniffed the air, and a pungent smell filled my nostrils.

"Rogues" Mel growled, and she grabbed my hand along with some of my bags. We started to make our way out of the mall, but were cut off when we saw three men, huge men at that, blocking our path.

"Well well, if it isn't the alphas sisters and the betas mate" he sneered, eyeing the three girls. He then turned to me "and who might you be?" he asked with a smirk, his eyes roaming the length of my body, which made me squirm in my place. Before I could answer, Olivia said in an emotionless voice "she's no one that concerns you. Now if you'll move out of our way we'll be going." She tried to push past them, but they moved in front of her, blocking our path again. "You're not going anywhere" he sneered, turning to his friends he asked "what do you think the king will reward us with for this lot?" I paled at his words. The king could only mean one man. The man who killed my pack, who haunts my memories.

The rogue king.

Dylan

It's been four hours since the girls took Riley to the mall. Mel had snatched my credit card, not that I minded, it was all for Riley. I tried to focus on my work, but I couldn't help but think about my mate and my sisters, I had tried calling them but no one answered. Finally, after another ten minutes of sitting at my desk, I decided to go to the mall myself. Call me protective or possessive, but I needed to know they were okay. Calling lewis into my office to finish my work, I went to the garage and got into my jeep, taking two guards with me, just in case.

The drive was surprisingly fast and I jumped out of the car, searching for my mate's intoxicating scent. I found it and followed it to one of the many entrances to the mall. As I got closer the strong scent of rotting flesh reached my nose.

Rogues I thought. The guards obviously smelled it as well because their noses turned up in disgust. We made our way through a different entrance and continued to follow the smell. I suddenly stopped when I saw the four girls standing face to face with three huge men. Three huge rogues. I stalked over angrily, growling lowly so only werewolves, with our advanced hearing, could hear. My mate and sisters turned around, relief washing over their faces, Olivia was the only one that kept a solid glare on the men.

Once I reached them I gently shoved Riley behind me, to shield her from the prying eyes of the disgusting wolves in front of me. "Well if it isn't the alpha himself. We were just talking about you" one of them, obviously the leader, said.

"I'm going to give you five seconds to leave the mall and get off my territory." I snarled threateningly, taking a step towards them. The leader opened his mouth to say something when he was interrupted by one of the men next to him.

"We don't want to cause any trouble," he said, glaring at his 'friend'. "We're leaving" the man grabbed his leader's arm and pulled him through the mall doors while the other one followed, leaving us standing there in shock.

"Well that was easy" Alina said, I turned to her angrily. "How could you come to the mall without any protection" then I turned to Melanie "and you, you were supposed to be responsible! I expected more of you." Sighing I looked both my sisters in the eyes, they were filled with regret and sorrow "How am I to trust you two if I can't be sure you won't get yourselves and my mate hurt, or worse."

"Were sorry, it won't happen again" Mel said quietly, looking into my eyes. Alina just looked mad, while Olivia was on her phone, probably texting Lewis. I kept my mates hand clutched in mine and continued to talk. "I know it won't happen again. I'm assigning you each two guards to watch over you at all times."

"What!" Alina shrieked, causing multiple humans to look in our direction "You can't do that-"

"I can and I will. No arguing its for your protection" I replied, with a glare.

Olivia had a smile on her face. "Ha suckers" she laughed, obviously enjoying the fact that the three of them would need to be watched 24/7, what she didn't know was that I had already mind linked lewis to confirm that she would be getting the same rules as the rest of the girls.

"Lewis said the same thing Olivia, don't look so smug" I said with a smirk, her mouth dropped and I heard a snort and a giggle behind me. Riley was covering her mouth trying not to laugh but failing. I smiled, she was happy, good.

"The guards will be starting tomorrow, end of discussion" I had already instructed the two men I brought with me to take the car the girls brought back to the pack house. "Let's get back, we're taking my car." The four of us walked out to the lot, Alina dragging her feet, her bags hanging from her arm. Olivia and Mel walked behind her talking in hushed voices, and Riley walked by my side, her hand in mine. She looked deep in thought. I made a mental note that her eyebrows scrunched together when she was thinking hard.

We all piled into the car and made our way home in silence.
