Chapter 19

(Jack's POV)

We watched movie after movie. Working our way through all the installments of the series.

"Jack, it's dark out. Shouldn't we be leaving?" She had asked me after we finished the first one. "Well it seems I've made a slight miscalculation." I had embarrassingly explained. "The full moon isn't for another 3 nights. So we've got some time to kill before we can visit the Luna Lake. We might as well chill here till tomorrow night."

After a while, I stopped watching the movie and just started watching her. She was perfect in every way. Just to look at her and watch her laugh was amazing, it took my breath away. Do you know what it's like to get breathless every time you simply look at a person? She has the cutest laugh, and her eyes... So bright and blue and as big as the sky. You could just get lost in them forever! She would look over at me every few minutes and instead of looking away and pretending I wasn't looking at her I would just smile at her. She would blush bright red and look back at the TV, not sure what else to do. Half way into the 3rd movie she started to fall asleep and lay her head on my chest. I took in a deep breath In surprise and her eyes opened and widened in shock.

"Jack I am so sorry" she muttered, shifting awkwardly.

"It's ok" I said trying to not appear awkward myself.

The truth is I liked it when she is close. It was terrifying, but In a good way. I liked feeling her near me. Ok, that sounds uber creepy Jack. Get a grip.

I turned to her and watched her try to find a comfy spot on the stiff ice sofa. To no luck she sighed in defeat.

"You know..." I started. not sure if I should really say what I wanted to. "I don't mind if you.." I looked down at my chest then back up at her. "It really did not bother me, in fact it felt..nice"

She looked confused for a moment before she gave me a sly smile. "You are very comfortable, Jack Frost." Then she looked down then back up at me as if remembering something."But I am a Queen, and your a commoner... a male commoner, that would be up most improper."

Ouch, that stung more then I wanted.

"I don't mean to burst your bubble your highness but if your going to be technical about it you have not been a ruler of anything for over 1000 years" I retorted sarcastically

"And as for improper... Sure I may not have been born royalty, but I am a Guardian, a higher power." I tried not to let my slight hurt show, it's not her fault she was born medieval royalty. "Things have changed since you were made into a Human Popsicle" I chuckled.

She starred at me "A what?" She asked, obviously confused.

"Well you know? The little frozen things...never mind" I shook my head. "Oh ok" she said looking down at her hands.

It must be hard for her to be in this new world and not know what anything is. I suddenly felt bad for brushing it off.

"Tell you what, Queen Elsa. I will buy you a Popsicle tomorrow so you can see what it is for yourself. Who knows, you might Like it!."

She smiled happily at me. "Thank you Jack, that sounds wonderful!" "

"It's nothing" I shrugged.

"Not for just this but for everything. You have been nothing but helpful and kind to me since I woke up. I am glad you were the one to find me. " She grabbed my hand and said every word with the utmost sincerity.

Her words hit me with the force of a freight train. She was holding my hand! I felt my heart warm just like it did the first time I saw her. It must just be in my mind.

"Jack!" I heard her call nervously

"Yes?" I muttered still in another world. She was glad that I found her? Before she wished she never woke up? What changed?

"Why is the ice melting?" She asked.

I looked around at the sofa we were seated on and the ice was starting to melt, dripping onto the cabin floor. I pulled my hand up to my face. I was warm...The heat in my heart had spread through my whole body! Why? I am cold. I have always been cold? So why am I beginning to warm?

Just at soon as it began it stopped.

"What was that Jack?" Elsa asked with a worried expression.

"Don't Worry, it happens sometimes. It's a Guardian thing." I lied.

Whatever it was, it's scaring hell out of me. I don't like lying to Elsa but I don't want to worry her. She has enough on her plate as it is.

"Oh ok" she went along with it. Then she yawned an rubbed her eyes tiredly. I opened my arms and smiled at her then pointed to my chest.

She looked at me then laughed. And much to my surprise she scooted closer to me and set her head on my chest, closing her eyes. After a few moments I felt her breathing even out, she had fallen asleep. I pulled her closer to me and wrapped my arms around her. She snuggled closer to me. Letting me hold her and just peacefully sleeping against me. Just looking down at her and watching her sleep peacefully, brought me such happiness. I've lived a long time, been through so many nights. But this, this was one of the better ones.
