S1 E1: Girl Meets World

Riley's POV

"Why do we need to sneak out of the house if we're not doing anything wrong until we sneak onto the subway?"
"You think you're ready to just walk by your parents?" I nod, I'm sitting on the bay window with my best friend, Maya.
"I think I'm ready"
"Let me see your face as you walk by your parents" I try to make a normal and chill face
"Why are you making that face at us, Riley?" she says in an attempt to imitate my parents
"Because I'm sneaking out to the subway" I smile and point out of the window
"Out the window"
"Let's go" we head out only to find my older brother Elliot, he can be so annoying sometimes I swear.
"Elliot! What are you doing out here?" I say with surprise
"Being smarter than me; how come you're always smarter than me?" Maya adds before we climb back in
"Here's what I'm thinking" Maya and I sit on my bed
"It's not your world yet. It's still my world. Because if it was your world, Maya would have you on the subway already, thinking you put something over on me. But you didn't. Know how I know? Look at you. You're right here" I notice that he briefly glances at Maya for a second, they always had some chemistry but they can't seem to see it, yet.
"How long do I have to live in my parents and brother's world?" As I finish the sentence my dad walks in
"Until you make it yours. Riley, do you know what I want more than anything? Go ahead. Make it yours"
"I will. And when I do, will you still be there for me?" Right then mom comes in as well
"Right here. We'll be right here" I look back at my partner in crime before walking out with her.

Maya's POV

I dance along with Riley at my friend Dweezil playing some cans as if they were drums
"Dweezil!" I say
"Maya! Who's the new chick?"
"Chick! Down here I'm a chick! No wonder my parents don't want me on the Subway" Riley replies. I simply roll my eyes jokingly and start walking towards the subway while Riley follows me
"You're slouching, Maya" A girl, Gretchen, says to me
"Thanks, Gretchen!" I reply to her and walk forward until we finally get inside the subway
"Woah, Riley, you don't do lip gloss" I've never seen her doing that! I'm doing such a good job as her bad influence
"Oh! What I forgot to mention is that I'm completely reinventing myself. I ride the Subway now, I have kiwi lips now, and I'm just as cool as you now!" My eyes lay over a cute guy reading a book, I've never seen him over here, he must be new in town
"Yeah, let's see how cool you can be when you look at him" I smirk when she turns around and he smiles at my best friend. Many people would think that I wish I had her life and that couldn't be far from the truth. Of course it'd be nice to have a happy family but if it wasn't for my past and my story I wouldn't be who I am today. And about that boy, I know that he's never gonna go out with me, who would? I'm a mess. Riley awkward smile and giggles snap me out of my thoughts
"Yeah, you're gonna need some lessons. Let me show you everything you need to know about boys and girls" I walk over him. I don't even know what I'm doing. I've never had a boyfriend in my entire life!
"Hi, I'm Maya. You're really cute. We should hang out sometime. You make me happy. You don't pay enough attention to me. This isn't working out. It's you, not me. We can still be friends, not really" I walk back to Riley and leave him in confusion. What is wrong with me?!
"He's available. We just broke "up.
"Are you okay? Do we need to talk about it?"
"You still wanna be like me?"
"I want to be exactly like you. I think too much and you don't think at all" I smile, she's so sweet but she needs to realize that she needs to be herself.
"See? You get me, so let's not think" I unlatch Riley's hand from the bar and she falls into the boy's lap
"Hi. We were just talking about you. You used to go out with my friend, Maya" I chuckle

Riley's POV

"I'm Lucas" Am I talking to a boy?! This is amazing!
"I love it"
"Perhaps someone would like to give their seat to someone older" A woman says to us and Lucas stands up but she stops him
"Not you, sweet potato pie"
"Please don't make me move. I just wanna see where this goes" I please her
"I've just worked a 12-hour shift and I just wanna see where this goes. Okay?" I sigh in defeat
" 'Kay" I walk back to Maya
"That was great!" she smiles.
"You're welcome" A thought suddenly hits my mind
"What if that was the best moment of my life? What if nothing ever happens to me again?" She unlatches my hand again and I fall into someone's lap, unfortunately it's the woman's, dang it! She looks at me and puts me back into his lap, best day ever.
