Chapter 33: Distractions

Waking up this morning was hard. I was so tired but at the same time, I wasn't. My body didn't want to move and I felt sick. Might be because I didn't eat dinner or breakfast. But as soon as I got up I ran to the bathroom and emptied my stomach.

Honestly one of the worst mornings I have had.

Currently, I was talking to mom and she was really concerned for my well being.

"Allie, how come when I called Luca he said you weren't in the house? Are you ok? Did something happen?" she asked worriedly.

"Mom, no need to worry I'm fine. Something happened between me and Luca that's all." I tell her but she rambles on.

"Baby what happened? Are you sure your ok? Do I need to come to you? Oh my goodness! Where are you? Are you safe?" and she continued to ask questions.

"Mom I'm fine. Just know that Luca and I are probably going to separate. I don't know why I thought it would work out, I thought we had a chance." I tell her truthfully. I hear her sigh.

"Oh, Allie. Where are you?"

"I'm at the family beach house."

"Of course you are, it's one of your favorite places." we both laugh at her statement.

"You have loved the water and sand since you were a baby. When I said "bathtime" you would light up and get excited. Aviana never liked water, she was a pain to bathe. You two were quite the opposite of each other. You were a calm, happy baby. And Aviana was a cranky, unhappy baby. The best of both worlds." she did her best to make me laugh and cheer up.

My mom was the best at distracting me in situations where I'm upset, sad, angry, in denial. She knew exactly what to say to make me feel a certain type of way or get a reaction. One of the few people that can calm me down.

"No... Mamma! I don't need Aviana over here. I'm fine by myself." she was still worried about me although I said I was fine over and over.

"Mom....mom. And she hung up, great." I groan placing my phone on the nightstand. Fuck me, now I have to deal with that pain in the ass.

I have an hour before she arrives so I guess I'll go take a shower and see if I can stomach anything. I spent a lot more time in the shower then I anticipated, I was just standing in the same spot for a while staring at the floor. I also noticed my stomach was bigger which got me thinking.

Once I finally got out and changed, the doorbell rang.

"Fuck meeee!" I whisper yell knowing who it is. I walk down to the door and open it.

"It's your favorite person in the world!" Aviana sang holding her arms out.

"Right now your my 30th favorite person in the world. Get your ass inside." I say to her in a monotone voice and get out of the way so she can pass. I notice Aria standing by her feet smiling about to open her mouth to repeat what I just said. "Don't you dare Aria. Your mother is going to blow if you repeat what I just said."

Aria pouts and Aviana turns red. I laugh at there cuteness before grabbing Aria and running in the other direction. Aviana runs after us but I lose her and run into my room sitting on the bed. I was left breathing heavily and panting.

"That is....the most exercise...I've....had in a while." I say, breathless. Aria giggles and jumps in my arms. "Shhh, you have to be quite so she doesn't find us." I whisper to her.

Just then Aviana bursts through the door and tackles us down. "You can run but you can't hide."

"You're really going to use that typical line? Also, you made my stomach cramps a lot worse."

She rolls her eyes and says, "First of all yes and second of all the fu-, the fudge!" while giving me a weird look.

"I'm probably going to start my period soon or something, I don't know! I haven't had it in a while."

Her eyes widen as soon as I said that. "How late are you?"

"About two months I think?" I say unsure and Aviana sits up quickly grabbing Aria and sitting her up as well.

"You've never been two months late, Allie! You're either a couple of days late or two weeks late."

I totally ignore her freaking out and ask, "How the hell do you know this but I don't?"

She facepalms herself shaking her head. "Allie, you do know what this could mean right?"

I grab Aria out of her lap and place her in mine. "Nope. I don't and frankly, I don't really need you to give me a whole explanation about blah blah blah." I brush my fingers through Aria's long brown hair finding it as a way to distract myself.

"Oh my goodness I forgot! What happened between you two?"

In my mind I wanted to shank her, she's lucky I didn't. I didn't want to talk about it but she was my sister and deserved a bit of information. I told her that me and Luca had a big fight, he lashed out me, told me to never show my face, and that.... I confessed my love for him.

And boy, was she mad.

"You confessed that you loved him! Ughhh, he's such a jerk for throwing you out after that! I'm going to kick his ass the next time I see him!" her face was starting to turn red as she kept ranting.

"Please don't do that Ava. He's not worth it." I plead.

She grabs my hand giving it a firm squeeze. "No. He broke my sisters heart into pieces and I won't let that pass. You don't deserve that Alessandra. Boy, you didn't deserve this whole disaster of an arranged marriage."

Her words melted my heart and made me realize how grateful I am for her. Anytime she says comforting things to me, I feel safe and happy. "You always know how to make me cry." I say and laugh with tears in my eyes.

She smiles. "And you always know how to make me smile." she leans in until our foreheads touch and takes both of my hands. "It's ok to cry you know. I'm sure you still have a bunch of tears in those beautiful eyes, just let them flow. We're here now and will be until you ask me to leave."
