Chapter 5

"I imagine you enjoyed yourselves immensely with my money considering how late you've both arrived" Klaus tells them when they walk into the mansion, carrying their shopping bags.

He was standing at the top of the stairs, staring down at both of them with a frown.

Rebekah sighs, knowing that he's in one of his moods again.

Oh great.

There's nothing quite like returning home from a long, tiring day only to have to prepare yourself for more scratching and hissing.

"Well you can hardly blame us" Rebekah replies, "Rose needed clothing of her own that she felt was more her style" she adds as they ascend the stairs, "I take it your little girlfriend has told you that she ran into us at the Grill then?" She questions as she guesses the reason for his moody behaviour.

It was hard to tell with her brother since grumpy is his go-to look.

"Apparently Kol was very gory in his detailing of killing both her and Ms. Bennett" He says, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Even after her friends killed our brother you still chase after her" Rebekah says with a disbelieving laugh, "Nik you truly are something else" she says in disappointment before brushing past him, shaking her head in evident disappointment as she does. 

Clearly the Mikaelsons have a lot of issues that they must address as a family.

"I take it she's told you all about her villainous older brother then?" He asks Rose when she starts to walk off. He was upset because she wasn't saying anything to him.

"No" Rose sighs as she turns to face him, "I just didn't imagine we'd be attacked before I even had time to drop my shopping bags off in my room" she replies coolly as he looks away guiltily, "Rebekah didn't say anything about you Klaus, maybe if you trusted her better you'd know this" she adds with a passive aggressive jab at him.
