"I-I don't get it" Isaac stutters, "Well did something happen?"

I stood at the top of the stairs listening in on the conversation happening on the floor below

"It's just not gonna work with all of you here. I've got Cora now. It's too much. I need you out tonight" Derek said emotionless clearly lying

Isaac scoffed, "Where am I supposed to go?"

"Somewhere else" Derek replied

"Did I do something wrong, Derek?" Isaac asked a little hurt

"You're doing something wrong right now by not leaving" Derek told him

"Oh, come on"

"Get out" Derek commanded

"Derek, please" Isaac pleaded

I felt bad for the pup, he thinks he's done something wrong, that Derek doesn't want him when all Derek is trying to do is protect him.

"Get out" Derek repeated

"Come on" Isaac said

I walked most of the way down when I saw Derek throw the glass in his hand

The glass shattered against the pillar, "Go!" Derek shouted

Isaac picked up his bag walking out hurt and confused.

Derek leaned against his desk hanging his head low in shame.

"That was a low blow, Der" I stated

"I know" Derek said softly voice laced with guilt and regret

I walked over to him, "You should have just told him the truth"

Derek shock his head looking at me, "Then he wouldn't leave, he would be in even more danger. V, I've already lost one of my beta's I can't, I won't lose another"

I just received my caramel latte from the Beacon Hills Coffee Shop, walking out the front door I got a call from an unknown number

"Vanessa?" Peters husky voice asked

"Peter? How did you get my number?" I asked

"My nephew gave me it. We need you to come to home, we found were Deucalion's staying" he told me

"Rito, I'm just down the road I'll be there in a minute"

"See you soon, darl" Peter said hanging up leaving me dumbfounded.

I started walking up to Derek's loft thinking over Peter's choice of word.

Darl? Why darl? You normally call someone you care about or love darl. Did Peter care about me? No, no, no, Peter Hale doesn't care about anyone and he definitely doesn't love me. I might be reading to much into this maybe he meant it in a friendly or polite manner. Yeah, yeah that's more like it.

Wrapping my hand around the handle I yanked the heavy metal sliding door open, all eyes on me, I gave them a small smile and a quick hello still a little distracted, shutting the door again I walked over to them sipping my latte.

I stood near the large loft window listening to there plan to take the Alpha pack down.

Derek looked at me with soft eyes, "You ok?"

"Yeah, don't worry about it" I told him

"After 6 years you think you can still lie to me?" Derek asked with a smirk, but his eyes were filled with worry

I looked at him, "Just leave it, Derek"

"Vanessa..."

"I SAID JUST LEAVE IT!" I shouted annoyed,

Peter tilted his head confused at me change of mood, 'What's wrong?' he mouthed

I shook my head at his obliviousness, turning around sipping my coffee and looking out across the city.

The door opened again, "I know where they are" Scott stated

"Same building as the Argent's, we know" Derek replied

"Cora and I followed the twins" Boyd announced

"Then they want you to know" Scott said

"Or more likely, they don't care" Peter told them

"He's right" I told them turning around, "Duke's got that much of an ego he believes no one will be able to take him down, so he doesn't even try to hide"

Scott walked over to us, "What is this?"

"Isn't it obvious?" Peter asked rhetorically

I looked into my coffee cup, "Obviously not" I mumbled no normal human would be able to hear.

Peter's ear perked up at my comment but ignored it.

"The schemers are scheming, coming up with a coup de main, better known as a pre-emptive strike" Peter continued to explain

Scott looked at Derek, "You're going after them?"

"Tomorrow" he replied, "And you're gonna help us"

That's it for tonight. Catch ya's later.
