"ARE YOU SURE YOU WANNA COME WITH ME?" I asked Jacob hesitantly as we exited Avengers Tower and approached the silver 2020 Jeep Wrangler Tony insisted on buying after I refused to drive one of his iconic Audis. I had mentioned always wanting a Jeep like my dad's old 2000 Jeep Wrangler, but I didn't expect him to buy me one-much less the newest one. Jacob was adamant that I had gotten a new car and not him, but I knew it was probably just the billionaire's way of saying 'thank you' for reuniting him with his godmother. I had protested against the purchase but I wasn't complaining. A free car is a free car.
"Yes. But maybe I'd want to come more if we were driving Mr. Stark's R8 e-tron." He still wasn't quite comfortable calling our "boss" Tony yet.
I rolled my eyes and slid into the drivers seat. "Give it a rest about the Audi and buckle up, okay? You're just salty because you didn't get a car."
Once he had buckled up, he slumped in the passenger seat and pouted. "I don't understand why,"
Like I said before, it was probably because I had reunited Tony with Peggy. But who knows, maybe it was a competition between him and Downey. RDJ had offered me another car the other day.
"I'm sure he'd give you a car if you asked-but you aren't going to." I turned on the radio. "Because that's impolite ."
"Yeah, whatever mom." Did this boy just parent-zone me?
"I could leave you here with Steve so you can do more drills!" I threatened.
"Sorry," he added the last part quietly, but loud enough so I could hear him. "Mom."
The intro of Old Town Road began to play. "I think the heck not!" He changed the channel before I could. He let out a groan when Reputation started to play.
"Plug your phone in." I suggested, handing him the cord without looking away from the road.
It took him a few minutes to plug his phone and when the music did begin to play, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello's Señorita began to play. "So where are we going?"
"Señorita? Really?" I asked, rolling my eyes. "I thought you were going to play something a little less overplayed."
He made a noise. "Overplayed? Mads, Señorita can never be overplayed!"
