"SKYE-DAISY-ARE YOU OKAY?" I asked as the stone fell away from my eyes.

"What happened to me?" She asked, her voice shaking as she flexed her fingers, examining them strangely.

"You're a superhero?" I said hesitantly. "Things might be scary right now, but you'll be fine. I promise."

She reached out and grabbed my hand, and I tried not to sigh in relief that she hadn't quaked me to pieces. So far she'd stayed calm, so hopefully the city wouldn't start to collapse. "Where's Raina?"

"About that..." We both glanced over at where Raina was standing. The clay in front of her face fell away, and her eyes were a brilliant bronze.

The rest of her cocoon fell away, but unfortunately a butterfly didn't come out. "What happened to me?" She hissed, cringing in pain as she accidentally touched one of the spikes coming out of her skin.

"Your 'transformation'." I said, making dramatic quotation marks with my fingers.

"My...my gift is this?!" She questioned incredulously, a look of disgust on her face. She turned to me, her eyes narrowing. "Did you have something to do with this?"

"Nope." I popped the 'p', leaning back against one of the walls. That was a bad decision, because it began to slide open again. "That was close. Sorry, what were we talking about again?" I probably shouldn't have irritated someone who could impale me with their face and gut me with their head, but I couldn't help it.

"My. Transformation." Raina replied, her usual calm gone.

"Oh, right. You're not just...um...a human porcupine?" I paused, gauging her reaction.

Instead of attacking me, she sighed. "I'm just in a lot of pain, huh?"

"Actually, you can see the future in your dreams. It's pretty cool."

"Some consolation." Raina crossed her arms. "So now what?"

"Well," I began delicately, "We should find something to cover you up so you don't...uh, so you don't start a new urban legend."

"What are her powers, then?" Raina huffed.

"It's not important right now. We need to get out of here." I gestured for Daisy to go first.
