• Chapter thirty eight •

amber's pov

   i was playing games on my phone until they announced that our plane would be landing in about ten minutes. harvey and maddie were both asleep, so i decided i'd wake them up. i shook maddie's arm a bit until her eyes fluttered up and she moved her head from harvey's shoulder which made harvey wake up as well. "why'd you wake us up?" maddie asked still half asleep "cause the plane is landing in about ten minutes" i said "ooo yay finally. i can't wait to have my feet on the ground again" she said "yeah same" i said "i can't wait to be back home" harvey said "why you didn't like staying at my house?" she asked him "oh of course i liked staying at your house it's just nice to be back in the comfort of your own home you know" he said "yeah i know what you mean" she said. then the announcement for us all to put our seat belts on for the landing came on, so we all did as instructed. i really hate the landings. i always feel like we're somehow gonna crash but then we get to the ground and i feel so relieved. we grabbed our carry on's and our back packs from the top and got off the plane to go find our luggage. once we got all of our things i got a text from max.

for you guys out front. have
you landed yet?

                                  i've missed you so much too.

   after texting max i told maddie and harvey that max is outside waiting to pick us up. we all walked outside to the front of the airport to see a max leaning against the side of this car. i saw his face light up when he saw me and he began to walk over to me flashing me a smile. i dropped my backpack and left my luggage where i was and ran as fast i could to max. not hesitating i jumped into his arms wrapping my legs around his waist as picked me. i pulled my face away from his shoulder and looked right into his beautiful hazel eyes that i've missed so much and said three words that i was afraid to say to him for months now. "i love you" i said as the words just rolled off my tongue perfectly like they were meant for me to say it to him "i love you too amber" he said as a big smile plastered across his face and that's when i smashed my lips into his. i can't believe i just told him i love him. i mean of course do love him it's just hard for me to open up and say that to people sometimes especially boyfriends. we pulled away from the kiss and max put me down on the ground back onto my feet. "awe that was cute!" maddie said smiling at us "i felt like i was watching one of those love story movies that maddie makes me watch with her" harvey said "hey! you told me you like those" maddie said hitting him playfully "i never said i didn't like them it just their a bit cringy" he said "your right about that" i said "okay well whatever i like them" she said "i know you do babe" harvey said kissing her cheek "okay anyways let me help you with your bags" max said to me and grabbed my luggage's and i just placed my backpack in the front to sit with me "wow i feel like i have my own personal butler" i said to max as he put my luggage's in the back "that's what boyfriends are for" he said with a laugh and we both got in the front of the car as maddie and harvey then put their stuff in his trunk along with my stuff. once we were all in the car we headed to their house. i starred at the window as we passed many fields and small towns to get to their house. "it's so beautiful here" i said admiring the scenery "yeah i guess so, but harvey and i don't really think that way since we live here"max said "that's true. that's like when harvey said canada is beautiful to us" i said. then we pulled into their driveway. it looked like a typical british home, but it was much larger than others. we all got out of the car, got our things and went inside. i get to meet max's whole family today and i'm actually kind of nervous. i just hope they like me.

maddie's pov

   we walked in the door and immediately two kids came running down the stairs to hug harvey. they must be leo and tilly. "we missed you harvey" tilly said as harvey picked her up "i didn't miss you that much, but i only came down to see you cause tilly made me" leo said "wow thanks" harvey said messing up his hair "not the hair man" he said trying to fix it and harvey just stuck out his tongue at him "you must be maddie. harvey never stops talking about you" tilly said coming up to me "oh does he now" i said smiling up at him "what can i say i just love you a lot" he said raising his hands up in defence "we know that but it gets annoying sometimes" tilly said "you get annoying sometimes" harvey said and she just rolled her eyes at him and looked back it me "anyways it's nice to finally meet you" she said giving me a hug "it's nice to meet you too" i said hugging her back and then they went and said hello to amber. "are you ready to meet my parents?" he asked as we walked walked towards the living room "yeah but i'm kind of nervous" i said "don't be. i know their gonna love you" he said giving me reassurance and we walked into the living room and i saw his parents sat down on the two seater couch. his mom was reading a book and his dad was looking at the paper. "mum. dad. i want you to meet someone" he said and they both looked up at us and smiled "this is my girlfriend maddie" he continued and sara stood up to hug me "oh honey it's so nice to finally put a face to your name. we've heard so much great things about you" she said hugging me "its nice to finally meet you too mr. and mrs.mills" i said and paul shook my hand "oh please just call us paul and sara" paul said "okay paul and sara" i said with a smile "harvey was right you are very beautiful" sara said looking at me and harvey smiled at me "awe thank you" i said and that's when max walked in with amber "and you must be amber" sara said "yes i am" she said "well it's nice to meet you as well" sara said and paul and sara greeted her too. they seemed to like both of us which was a good thing. "i'm going to start dinner soon so that should take me an hour or so, so if you boys want to show your girlfriends around the town that would be nice" sara said "okay mum" max said and we all left so they could show us around. max and amber were a little ways ahead of us having their own conversation and harvey and i we're behind the talking too. "so i guess you can't stop talking about me" i said and harvey blushed "well it's hard when i missed you so much and i love you so much too. your always on my mind mads" he said which made me smile big "harvs your the sweetest boy ever and your always on my mind too by the way" i said and smiled "i'm glad" he said and smiled too. "berkshire is so beautiful! i wish i lived here" i said looking around as he put his arm around me "well i could arrange that one day" he said "already thinking about moving in with me are we now" i said "well maybe. we are gonna be 18 next year and can live on our own. plus i can't stand us living miles away from each other anymore" he said "me too but we'll have to talk about that a different time when we get closer to being 18" i said "okay sounds good to me" he said. wow harveys already thinking about our future together. i mean i do that too, but i didn't know it was happening so soon. of course i'm happy that he wants to spend his life with me, but i don't know if i'm ready to move to a whole new country just yet. i've lived in canada my whole life. that's where i grew up. that's where my parents grew up. that's where all my memories of my brother and dad are. i don't know if i'm ready to leave my past behind just yet. i'll have to do some serious thinking about this whole thing, but for now i'm just going to enjoy my time in england.
