You may have noticed that I reference honeysuckle thousands of times throughout the book—mostly with Kayde involved.
I fell in love with the flower as a child. Honeysuckle is what I imagine heaven smells like: sweet, savory and perfect. As a child, I could not resist taking the sweet flower off its vine to taste the pollen. It is because of this that it is my favorite flower.
However, there are many other meanings behind honeysuckle:
Honeysuckle is symbolic of a love that will never be forgotten. It is said that the flower, when let go, will return to you if it is meant to be.
Honeysuckle is a symbol of happiness, devoted affection and passion.
It became a symbol of undying love after people realized that it was difficult to completely remove from a place.
Honeysuckle also symbolizes staying true to your path.
It is an ancient myth that honeysuckle brings good luck and protects one from evil spirits.
Honeysuckle is rumored to remove toxins from the body and cure nostalgia.
