Chapter twenty-one

21.

Lukes grip loosened on mine and soon enough he was out of sight. I walked into the hall and suddenly it went silent, everyone was staring and whispering and it made me feel more self conscious then I already was. I frantically looked around the hall until I saw Zara Laura and Kate waving at me indicating they had a seat for me. I started to walk down the hall as heads turned and whispering filling the hall. As I sat down most people returned to what they were doing but the majority still stared

"I feel like everyone's staring" I said looking to Zara

"It's okay just ignore them" she said

I nodded and then began to study again before they handed out the exams. Soon enough the exams were handed out and the room was filled with silence. The odd time I'd look up from my paper and would see people staring, it really put me off. After an excruciating 2 hours the exam came to an end and everyone was sent home. I quickly picked up my bag and left the hall to meet luke outside, I really wanted to just home.

As I waited outside I felt everyone stare so I looked to my phone, I did that a lot lately. I suddenly felt a cold hand on my shoulder, I looked up and a shiver was sent down my spine. My jaw dropped slightly and my eyes widened, I was confused and scared and shocked

"Mom?" I said looking at her with confusion

"You're coming with me" she said tugging on my arm

"No I'm not let go!" I said firmly pulling away from her

People were staring at the situation unfolding, but no one was helping and luke still wasn't to be anywhere in sight

"Come on!" She yelled pulling me forcefully towards the car

"Let go! I don't want to go home with you!" I screamed still trying to pull away

"Were not going home! I'm bringing you to the clinic" she said

I stopped in my tracks as the colour drained out of me

"What clinic?" I managed to get out

"The abortion clinic" she said pushing me into the car

"No mom no!" I screamed a high as I could hoping someone would hear me

"Mom I'm not getting an abortion! I'm not getting ride of my baby girl!!" I screamed tears streaming down my cheeks

"Alexa! Alexa!" I heard jai screaming running towards me

"Jai!" I screamed trying to get nearer to him

"Let go of her" luke said running towards me

My mom let me go and drove away as soon as she saw teachers and the principal starting to approach us

"Luke" I cried into him

"Shh it's okay it's okay" he said holding me tightly patting down my hair. I could feel him shake as some tears escaped his eyes

"Let's go" jai said looking pale, they must of heard what she said

As we walked home I thought about it, what if jai or luke hadn't of come in time and I would of been forced into my moms car and would of got an abortion? Thank god they saw because if they hadn't of well there would of been no baby which would he devastating. We reached the house and Gina opened the door full of smiles unaware of what happened, when she saw us her facial expression changed

"What happened?" She said bringing us all in

"Alexa I think you should go up and change and I'll tell my mum" luke said

I nodded and went up and changed in my pajamas, I then sat on the bed and cried. I was so close to losing this baby today and the thought scared me. After having a baby grow inside you for almost 6 months you become emotionally attached even though you haven't seen them yet and I don't think anyone realizes that unless they experience pregnancy

I soon enough got up and went down to luke and Gina in the kitchen. I stopped in my tracks as I heard cries from the kitchen

"Mum her mom tried to bring her to the abortion clinic! The abortion clinc mum to get an abortion! She could of lost our baby mum if I hadn't of been there in time it could of been gone" luke cried

I looked through the gap in the door and Gina was also crying, it really was a close call

I walked in not saying anything and sat down beside luke, I took his hand and just started to cry

Gina started to laugh as we were all crying

"What are we all doing" she laughed which made me and luke laugh also

"Come on stop crying, it's okay everything's okay" she said taking both out hands

Luke looked to me his face red and eyes puffy

"I'm so sorry I should of been there" he said

"It's not your fault don't feel bad" I said looking to him

"I love you I really do, I promise I won't leave you like that" he said
