They weren't meant to be, it was known.

It hasn't always been like this. At first they were deeply in love with each other, maybe too deep in love.

Y/n and Jaeden have known each other since they could remember, beginning to end. They were like a pair of friends at first, but it started becoming more than that.

Their parents were old time buddies, just like themselves.

During elementary it was nothing more then friends. Y/n and Jaeden have always been best friends, being in the same school only made it closer. It was nothing more then innocence, they were far to little to be more than friends. Y/n and Jaeden were both young and innocent, something that would change someday.

Middle school was more awkward then any of their years. Middle school was the time for changes, awkward changes.

Both y/n and Jaeden were changing into preteens. Y/n grew more, as most female teenagers her age were. Y/n started developing her top part of the body, she was a bit taller than she used to, and almost everything about her changed. He changed too, Jaeden also did change like any other boys his age would. He was now taller, grew his Adams apple, and he was no longer innocent. It was the time were their hormones were out of the world, and unbalanced. At first, it would've been awkward.

After summer y/n would come back and Jaeden couldn't help but stare, her beauty. His hormones increasing every time he saw her.

At their age, people around the school has already started dating. It wasn't anything more than sweaty handholding, awkward dates, or just anything awkward.

Middle school was when they started liking each other, but they never told one another. It was the thought of them together that keeps the friendship alive.

Their relationship wasn't much, if even to consider a "relationship", they were always pair of friends and nothing else.

During middle school they would go on "dates" that shouldn't even be considered dates. Dates for them would be going on large group dates, it wasn't actually a date. Once they went to the movie theaters with friends, there weren't enough seats so y/n had to sit on Jaeden's lap. His Hormones were going crazy just because she was sitting on him, later y/n feels something poking her. The poor girl was far more innocent then the boy, she didn't know how a boy could get "hard". She turned to look at him, when she turned over she saw a flesh beat red staring at her.

That was the last time she ever sat on his lap. Y/n laughs about it now, it was so funny how innocent she was.

Now they were in high school, one of the worst parts of her life. It was the time where they really let themselves go, the time where everything was ruined.

It all started at their first high school party, during their Freshmen years.
Y/n and Jaeden attended the party, not aware of what was going to happen.

Y/n stood in the corner of the room, she glanced over at the boy. A girl clings onto his arms, Jaeden's arms. Y/n rolls her eyes dramatically, what the hell was she doing to him? The next thing y/n knew they were both gone, both the girl and Jaeden.

The girl was leading Jaeden towards the stairs, into the bedroom. You could probably guess what happened there.

At first y/n was disappointed, she really thought that he liked her after all their years spent together. After all the things that happened throughout their lives, but she guess it wasn't anything to him. If he really did love her he never would've gone up the stairs with her, with the girl he had no other connections with.

The next day he never said anything to her, not one thing. Y/n could tell he wasn't going to tell her about what he did yesterday, it wasn't a shock to her. Y/n wanted to confront him, ask him about the random girl he went upstairs with but she figured it really wasn't any of her business. Y/n wasn't Jaeden's girlfriend, she was just a friend that has a crush on him, it shouldn't be her business. She shouldn't ask him, it was nothing she should've been worrying about anyways. But a little part of her can't help but get jealous, she's trying to control herself but it seems like she can't.

Instead of confronting him, why shouldn't she have a little fun? Why shouldn't she give him a taste of his own medicine? She knew how to exactly deal with him, giving him a little taste for himself.

She was going to play games with him, a game that was going to show how much he should be regretting his choice.

They were going to play the lovers game.
