"How was your weekend at Sarah's Clementine?" I asked her as I picked her up from school.
She remained silent, folding her arms and looking out of the window. I felt my stomach start to turn at the way she reacted. Is something wrong? Or am I just overanalysing?
"Clementine!"
She nearly jumped out of her seat at the sound of my shouting before turning to me. "It was nice daddy," she said putting on a fake smile. I could tell something was wrong, but I'll check it out when I get at home. Thank god the guys had decided against sending me back to the asylum after what I had done to Chris and Ricky. Which reminds me, I should probably stop at their house on my home to offer an apology.
"Sweetheart you know you can tell me when something's wrong, right?" I diverted my attention to Clementine after I had started the car.
"Yes daddy. I'm okay," she answered softly.
This only made my heart beat even faster. Something is wrong with Clementine. I can feel it. Maybe I should tell the guys later so they can help me out. Perhaps she'll open up to Jinxx. She has stayed with him for a year when I was not there for her.
Making my way to Ricky and Chris, I turn on some Alkaline Trio to cheer up my daughter. Once we reach their house, I tell Clementine to wait in the car as I go inside. Before I get out of the car I soften the music and once I exit it, I lock the doors. Painfully knocking on the door, I feel my blood rush at the thought of what I am going to say. How will they perceive me? I wouldn't blame them if they hated me. When I hear the key in the doorknob, I take a deep breath before forcing a pained smile on my face, my hands dripping with sweat and my hands shaking.
"Well well well, look what the cat dragged in!" Ricky shouted at Chris, I assumed, as he folded his arms and death glared at me.
"Who is -" Chris stopped his sentence once he saw me in the doorway.
"Oh hey Ash. Come on in, " he smiled at me gently which shocked me immensely.
Ricky gasped before turning to Chris with a frown on his face. "Excuse me? We're letting this barbarian into our house?!" he shouted at Chris.
Chris pulled Ricky towards him and whispered something into his ear before gently placing a kiss to his cheek. Ricky then sighed and moved for me to enter.
"I-I don't have m-much time. My-my d-daughter's in the c-car!" I nervously stuttered.
"Ashley, calm down! You're as pale as a ghost!" Chris said.
Taking a moment to regain my composure, I thought about what I was going to say. Well, here goes.
"I'm sorry for what happened Friday night. I didn't mean to come between you guys." After I had started speaking, tears threatened to fall down my cheeks, but I swallowed and tried to give them the apology they deserved. "Andy, I mean, Chris. Yeah." I stopped, taking a deep breath. I couldn't talk any further. When I opened my mouth I nearly choked. It was too painful to explain and I don't think they'd understand me no matter how I tried to explain to them. "I just, I m-miss Andy so much and when I saw Chris. Ricky Chris thought I was you. Please he didn't know-"
"Ashley stop!" Chris said as he pulled me into a hug.
"Your friends actually explained everything to us. We just wanted you to man up and apologize, but obviously this is painful for you," Ricky added. "It's okay. We forgive you."
Breaking down in front of them, I thanked them for forgiving me. They reassured that me that it would be okay and that I would be okay.
