ELIZA STOOD on the stone ledge of the Howe, overlooking the surrounding grassland. Her mind couldn't drift from the events that had occurred only a night ago. She couldn't comprehend the fact that Caspian and Peter has been so close to releasing one of their greatest foes- It was almost infuriating but she was scared. Scared that her brothers and sisters would get hurt.

She couldn't wipe the image of Lucy's terrified face, after Eliza had killed the dwarf, form her mind. She felt almost monstrous making Lucy witness her kill the other dwarf- she didn't deserve to see that.

"Out here to wallow too?" A voice spoke up from behind her, making her jump with fright. The girl turned on her heel to face the boy. Caspian was standing with his arms folded, as he sighed lowly.

"Wallow is a very strong word- but I suppose I am." Eliza frowned, sitting down on the stone ledge, "Sit." She pointed for the boy to join her.

Caspian obliged, sitting down beside the girl. The guilt from the night previous was making his stomach churn the more he thought about it. "I'm sorry for last night." He mumbled, causing the girl to sigh.

"I don't need an apology- I need to make sure something like this won't happen again." She replied calmly, her gaze set on the distant trees, "Now tell me... do you know what my sword says?"

Caspian looked a bit taken aback by the question, looking down at the shorter girl as she unsheathed her silver sword. "I'm afraid I do not." The boy answered.

"Audentis Fortuna Iuvat." Eliza recited, perfecting the pronunciation as she'd done hundreds of times as a queen, "Fortune Favours The Brave." The girl let a small smile grace her face as her finger traced along the letters, as she recalled the day she first received it.

Caspian tilted his head, trying to gain some sort of idea of why the younger girl was telling him this. "Fortune smiles on people who dare to achieve- If someone ventures nothing, they will surely get nothing." The girl continued, "As a young child- I had to decipher the meaning myself and as I grew older, I slowly developed my own definition."

Caspian now was extremely intrigued in what the girl had to say. "Take Lucy for example- if she wasn't brave enough to venture into Narnia through the wardrobe- we wouldn't be here." Eliza explained, "As I grew, I learnt more from this saying. I learnt that if I don't get over my fears- they'll eventually swallow me, I learned that if I don't try something- how in the hell will I know if it was a good idea or not?!"

The boy scrunched his eyebrows together, "Every attempt is a mark of achievement.." Caspian whispered, before clearing his throat, "That's what my father taught me when I was young." His heart throbbed as the image of his father came to mind, and with the new information about his uncle being responsible for his death- it just made his heart feel heavy.

Eliza nodded sympathetically at the boy, "I've realised that it's physically impossible for everyone to be brave day in and day out- but one act of bravery can influence and teach millions of others." She said, "-and after last nights events you've learnt not to be tempted or clouded by revenge." This whole talk felt very- off topic, but somehow it put Caspian at ease.

Caspian gaped at the girl, her message piecing together, "Fortune favours the brave." She repeated once more, "Hence why I am not mad at your actions- you tried, you failed, you learned and now you will move forward. Luck will always have its charm on those who dwell on risks."

"That's very wise." Caspian remarked, chuckling softly, "It relates to you a lot." Eliza tilted her head and shrugged slightly, it definitely was not the first time she'd heard that- for so many years the words on her sword hung over her head like some kind of banner that was displaying her role in Narnia.

"Aslan was a wise creature." The girl nodded, Eliza contemplated on whether or not to tell him the next part, "I saw him you know...-when I was trapped behind the gates." The girl hadn't told anyone this, for it brought back an hour of darkness she did not wish to remember.

"I-I cannot imagine how it must've felt" Caspian stammered, turning to face the the girl. Her eyes were glazed over but it was as if she'd completely built an entire wall around her emotions.

"In that situation, I can only assume that the entirety of your life flashes in front of your eyes- but for me, all I could see was my family and in the moments just before my eyes closed I felt calm, as if all pain and tension was washed away as soon as I spotted Aslan." Eliza said wistfully.

A comfortable silence overcame the two, as they both fell into a deep train of thought. The girl had shut her eyes, letting the Narnian breeze sweep over her, breathing in the familiar air. Someone cleared their throat behind them.

"Am I interrupting?" he mused, making his twin chuckle as the two on the ledge, turned to face Edmund who stood at the entrance.

"Not at all, good sir." Eliza mocked almost tiredly, as she stood up from the ledge. Edmund raised a brow at her then Caspian and the girl burst out into laughter. Caspian looked confused, but Edmund looked- annoyed?

"Eddie, we were just talking." Eliza said between breaths, "Besides I'm pretty sure Susan has called dibs." Caspian blushed, averting his gaze as the girl chortled to herself.

After another few moments of pure euphoric laughter, Eliza returned to her usual straight face, Caspian had wandered off, leaving the twins to talk. "Is Lucy still inside?" She asked quietly, her guilt slowly creeping over her.

Edmund shifted on his feet, straightening his back, "She's with Peter." He replied, making the girl nod, "And, I last saw Peter sulking like a toddler down by the Stone table."

"That's good." Eliza sighed, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear, "And Susan?" She knew her older sister was furious at the two older boys actions last night.

"Still avoiding Caspian and Peter." Edmund concluded, making Eliza nod in understanding. "So, you and Caspian?" The boy raised his brow at his sister who rolled her eyes.

"Not a thing- never will be a thing. He's feels like an older brother like Peter but- more Telmarine-ish ." Eliza stated, "Besides, he isn't really my cup of tea." The boy burst into laughter and slung an arm around his sister.

"That was terrifying..." Edmund whispered to the girl, he quickly glanced around as if fearing someone was going to listen in. "I thought the White Witch could never be resurrected."

The girl bit her lip, "It's Narnia, Ed. What do you expect?" She replied, "Nothing stays dead for long."

The boy chuckled almost spitefully, "I suppose that's true." He answered. Suddenly a loud booming sound echoed through The Valley,  and erupted from all around them. The Twins looked up, only to have their gaze land on the incoming Telmarine troops.

"Get Peter- I'll tell the Narnians." Eliza said quickly, her eyes not moving from the approaching army. "GO!" And with that, the two ran in their separate directions to spread the word.
