Logan guided Virgil to his car in the back parking lot. Virgil seemed less tense, not only because there weren't any other people around, but he seemed more comfortable in his own clothing. When they reached Logan's car, he fished for his keys and stuck the key in the door, unlocking it. Logan opened his door and hit a button, unlocking the passenger door. Virgil sat in Logan's car, admiring the cleanliness of his car. Logan took a seat too, feeling the seat sink as he leaned further into it.

The key met the ignition as the engine sparked to life. Virgil buckled himself up and sat on his hands. Logan started pulling out of his parking spot and continuing out of the parking lot. The drive was growing quiet which was making Virgil antsy. "So...what music do you like?" Virgil pondered, trying to lighten the mood.

"Classical mostly. Or at least, that's all I listened to while I studied during college. It's proven to be good for studying." Logan told him. Virgil nodded, his heart fluttering a little bit. "What about you?"

"I-I like bands. Mainly: My Chemical Romance, Falling in Reverse, Fall Out Boy. Things like that. Their music really brings me back down to earth." Virgil hummed. Logan nodded, mindlessly driving while still deeply engaged in the conversation. "You said you went to college, what was your major?"

"Criminal studies with a minor in Biology." Logan said quickly. Virgil thought for a second, but the silence making Logan think he had said something wrong. "Is something the matter, Virgil?" Logan questioned, wishing he hadn't said anything.

"Huh?" Virgil turned his head to look at Logan. He shook his head, "Oh, no. I just...I just remember going to college. I really enjoyed school. But all that got taken away."

"You were kidnapped at 15, you were in college by then?" Logan said, astonishment in his words.

"Yeah. I only lasted three semesters of high school before the teachers realized that I wasn't in the correct grade. My teachers helped me enroll into Florida State. I was only there for a year before... y-you know." Virgil's voice cracked at the end. Logan tapped the steering wheel, anxiously waiting for the light to change.

"What was your original major?" Logan asked as the light shifted, allowing him to go.

"I was undeclared. Although, that day was taken, I was going to declare an Art Major." Logan pulled into the museum's parking lot silently, parking his car in the front. He removed his key and shifted to Virgil who avoided eye contact.

"Thank you for sharing that, Virgil." Logan said smoothly. Virgil nodded with a small smile, his ears were red. Logan then got out the car, Virgil right behind him. Logan opened the museum door for Virgil who playfully laughed and rolled his eyes.

The museum was a landmark for the small Florida town. There was a main entrance with dividing hallways that lead to different exhibits. The paint on the walls was chipping and the lights turned the whole building yellow. Logan's shoulders stiffened, he did not like it here.

Logan walked up to the main desk, pulling out his badge and showing it to the man behind the desk. "Hello, I'm Detective Logan Sanders. We are under the impression that you have security cameras pointing towards the street behind you?" The man nodded. Logan smirked and tucked his badge away. "Perfect. We'd like to see your footage from the past week."

"Who is 'we' exactly?" The man asked. Virgil made himself known to the man as he stepped out from behind Logan. The guy at the desk eyed him oddly, his stomach was knotting.

"Sir, your cameras?" Logan pressed. The man nodded, still eyeing Virgil. They followed the desk man to the back room, unlocking the door and letting them inside. Logan thanked him and he left the two alone in the room. "Did you know that person?" Logan asked.

"N-No, I didn't." Virgil responded. Logan frowned but guided his gaze to the computer in front of him. The cameras were surveying the inside and outside of the building. Logan found the camera pointed at the street behind the museum and clicked on it, making it full screen.

Logan began tracking the footage back, Virgil looked around anxiously. The room was very small and tight. It was obviously a room for storage. Virgil didn't like it. It had remnants of old exhibits and fake dinosaur fossils. Everything in the room felt like it was ready to attack the two. Like the room knew they didn't belong there. Virgil's stomach twisted again but Logan tapped him on the arm, removing him from his thoughts.

"I think I found it." Logan said. Virgil looked curiously at the cameras, watching the scene play. The speed of the footage was moving fast but everything could be seen clearly. They could see three men, smoking in the alleyway. They were laughing and fighting, high as kites. After they left, Damion came trudging along, holding his stomach and limping. It didn't take much to recognize his pain. Damion leaned against the brick wall of the building next door. A few seconds after that, his eyes rolled back and he collapsed onto the ground. Lifeless with a trail of blood leaving his mouth.

Virgil flinched but watched himself on the cameras. He made his way around the corner and saw Damion. The past Virgil tried to shake Damion awake, only getting blood on his hands. All of the sudden, the camera began to glow brightly with light as headlights surrounded Virgil. He put his hands up and Logan could see Roman and a few other officers get out of the car. Virgil was weakly protesting them while tears flowed from his eyes.

Logan went wide eyed. The cameras showed Roman get Virgil into hand cuffs while the other officer connected a taser to Virgil's side. He let a scream escape him and his knees gave out. Virgil went limp which let Roman scoop him over his shoulder and carry him to the car.

Logan backed out of the video, almost speechless. "Virgil, I'm...I'm so sorry that happened." Logan stuttered. He looked back and saw Virgil back into the far corner of the room. Tears were flooding down his face and he was shaking terribly. "Virgil!" Logan exclaimed. He stood up and paced quickly to the man in the corner. He flinched as Logan came closer. "Hey, it's okay!" Logan said softly.

Logan reached out and grabbed Virgil's hand which was resting on his knees which he had pulled up to his chest. Virgil's head darted up at the sudden contact but he looked Logan in his calm and deep brown eyes. "It's okay, Virgil. That's in the past. You're okay now." Logan was starting to realize why Virgil would only talk to Logan back at the station. Virgil nodded and took a couple shaky breaths.

Logan looked at his watch and sighed. "Come on, today was long. Let's go back to my apartment and I can set you up in my guest bedroom tonight." Virgil nodded and let Logan help him to his feet. Once he was grounded, they walked out of the backroom and proudly walked out of the museum.

Both of their hands still wound together.
