FenFang is approaching. BaoBao informed BaiXue.

BaiXue quickly made a deduction based on her understanding of the original soul's character that she likely dedicated her life to serving FenFang as she viewed FenFang as her saviour. Unfortunately, it interrupted her search for the bandits who killed her brother.

BaiXue decided to let herself be found so did not ask BaoBao to carry her away from the area. Perhaps she could learn something new from FenFang that the book did not have.

It did not take long for FenFang to appear from within the trees in the distance. She had long luscious creamy white hair and a set of deep dark brown eyes. Her features looked refined and elegant. She was dressed in sky blue robes that swayed gently along with the wind.

FenFang spotted the pale looking BaiXue and rushed to her.

"What happened? How are you?"

BaiXue looked at her without expression then said weakly. "...Food."

"Come to my place." FenFang hoisted BaiXue up on her back then changed into a creamy white nine-tailed fox that was around 2 metres tall. The air around her seemed to sparkle a little and she gave off a white mystical aura.

BaiXue laid on the silky soft fur and moved her hands to lightly stroke it. Feels nice.

The next thing Bai Xue knew was waking up to the smell of food. She did not know at which point did she knock out. She once again pushed herself up laboriously and found out that she was sleeping on a stone bed covered with soft fur.

She looked at the stone table some distance away from the bed and saw various dishes laid out. There was chicken, pigeon, fish, and different vegetables. Her stomach growled loudly.

FenFang laughed gently. She heard the growling just as she entered with a bowl of soup.

"Nice timing. This is the last dish. I would have woken you up if you weren't already awake. I cooked so much because you seemed to be so hungry that you passed out. Come, eat your fill!"

The food that laid right in front of BaiXue gave her a spurt of adrenaline to make it to the table. She began digging in without a mind for courtesy. When she saw that one of the dishes had berries in it, she reflexively squinted slightly and wrinkled her nose in disgust. The original soul had eaten so many berries that it got her sick and tired of it. Although humans could change into animals, they were still fundamentally human, so they needed the typical nutrients that humans required.

"What pretty hair." FenFang complimented BaiXue out of the blue.

BaiXue glanced at her without breaking her momentum of eating.

Is she trying to start a conversation by being nice to you? BaoBao asked.

"It's almost the same colour as mine." FenFang continued.

BaiXue briefly wondered if the original soul would have been able to realise FenFang was actually complimenting herself. She doubted it.

"Eyes with a colour that contrasted more with the colour of your hair would have looked great but your pale grey eyes look nice too!"

...Can she just stop with her backhanded compliments already? BaoBao quickly lost his patience on BaiXue's behalf.

On the contrary, I'm actually interested to hear everything she wants to say.

BaoBao could not understand why BaiXue would be willing to entertain FenFang but he believed that her interest would not be so simple and straightforward.
