Semaj's POV
I was the first one awake the next morning even though Michael and I didn't officially go to bed until a little after three.
I was exhausted having woken up only after four hours of sleep, but I couldn't fall back asleep. Then when I got up to use the bathroom I knew I was awake for good.
When I exited out of the closet (that lead to the bathroom) daylight seeped through the cracks of the curtain, but the flashing light of the television illuminated the room.
Mimi-who wasn't up when I left the room-was up in her pack 'n play staring at the muted cartoons that came across the screen. Her head snapped in my direction and she smiled toothily.
I had only been around her for a short time, but it seemed every time she was around she grew, or something changed about her.
I'd always known that babies grew and developed relatively fast, but it was different to see it with my own eyes. She changed every day, literally.
