Chapter 32

When I met his eyes, I immediately panicked. I didn't know how to react. The fact that it was him hugging and kissing me all this time made me dizzy. Para akong natuklaw ng ahas nang mapagtantong marami akong nasabing hindi dapat niya narinig.

"Where is Harris? B-Bakit ikaw ang nand'yan?!" I pointed a shaking finger at him.

He groaned. Kitang-kita ko kung gaano siya ka-frustrated lalo na nang bumaba ang tingin sa damit ko. He took a step closer towards me and caught my elbow. Nagpumiglas ako pero lalo lang akong napapalapit sa kanya dahil sa mga nagsasayawang tao.

"Where is he?! I need to find him!"

Sobrang lapit namin na malaya kaming nagkakaintindihan sa gitna ng malakas na tugtugin. His lips were on a grim line and he was watching me intently. Para bang isang maling galaw ko lang ay malalaman niya. Sinubukan kong pumiglas pero mahigpit ang hawak niya sa akin. I glared at him.

"Let me go! Bakit... b-bakit ikaw ang nandito?! B-Bakit ikaw ang nagsasayaw sa akin?! Ha?! What did you do to Harris? Where is he?!" I pushed his chest with all my might.

His stare didn't even falter with my all-forced push. Hindi man lang siya natinag sa lakas ng tulak ko. His lips curved into a sarcastic smirk. Halatang naaasar pero nang-aasar.

"One look from me and he's out of the picture, Amber. Why are you so concerned about a stranger, hmm?" he said calmly.

Napakurap-kurap ako. I can't believe him!

"Harris is not a stranger! He won't leave me just like that! Baka naman may ginawa kang hindi maganda—"

"I didn't do anything bad..." he said but his expression says otherwise.

"Oh my god! Zacharius, just let me go! Why won't you leave me alone?!" iritado kong sigaw.

His brows shot up. His right hand supported my back, snaked behind me to my waist. Ang kaliwang kamay niya ay ginamit niya upang haplusin ang pisngi ko pataas sa gilid ng mata. Nag-init ang pisngi ko nang ma-realize na pinupunasan niya ang kaunting basa ng luha doon.

"Really? You want me to leave?" he mocked.

Hindi nakatakas sa akin ang pagpipigil niyang humalakhak. The sarcasm on his voice and expression was too much that my cheeks heated so bad! Gusto kong itago ang mukha ko sa kahihiyan pero hindi ako makawala sa kanya!

"Y-Yes! Of course, I want you to leave! Isn't it obvious that I don't w-want you anywhere near me?!" taas-noo kong sagot.

I confidently equaled his stare, determined to convince him and shoo him away. But instead of backing down, kitang-kita ko ang pagkakamangha niya. He looks amused, amazed, and a bit pissed all at the same time. I pushed his chest again out of embarrassment and anger.

"That's totally not what I heard you say just minutes ago, Amber..." he said with certainty that made me grew more embarrassed.

"W-Well..." I blinked twice. "I'm kinda drunk s-so I didn't know what I was saying... w-what am I doing. That's it!"

Nag-iwas ako ng tingin. I heard him chuckle. Napapikit ako habang iniisip na kinakanta ako ng mga kilos ko. No matter how hard I try to deny my feelings, my actions would give it all away.

"You think I would let you dance like that to a random stranger? You seriously thought I didn't care? Hmm?" he whispered slowly.

My heart hurt at that. I slowly looked at him. Parang pinipiga ang puso ko. Yes, I thought he was just fooling around when he said he wanted me back. I thought he lied. Na hindi naman talaga niya ako namimiss, hindi niya naman talaga ako gustong bumalik sa kaniya kasi hinahayaan niya lang ako sa ibang lalake.
