Chapter 36

Pagkatapos niya akong patakan ng isang malamyos na halik sa labi ay iniwan na niya akong mag-isa. I didn't know how to react. Laglag ang panga ko habang nakaupo sa gitna ng kama, my eyes flickering round the dimly lit room. Pumikit ako ng mariin at pabagsak na humiga. How can I sleep when it's already past 3 o'clock in the morning and he just said we're still married!

Pinaglalaruan niya ba ako? That man!

Nasa kalagitnaan na ako ng pagtayo at pagsunod sa kanya pero pinigilan ko ang sarili ko. Nagngingitngit ako sa inis habang iniisip ang lahat ng sinabi niya. He even said those three magic words! Umiling ako. I doubt he even means it! Damn him! Uminit ang pisngi ko habang paulit-ulit na nagrereplay sa utak ang mga salitang iyon.

How husky and deep his voice sounded when he said those words. It was knee-melting. But I shouldn't be thinking about that! Of course, he doesn't mean it! Even that part when he said we're still married! He knows how to play his game very well. Siguro ay sinabi niya lang iyon para may ako mismo ang lumapit sa kanya kinabukasan. He thinks it will bother me so much that I have no choice but to approach him and ask. As if I would fall for his stupid trick? No!

I released a shaky breath. Just because I was crazy for him, doesn't mean he can fool me that easy!

Akala ko hindi na ako makakatulog ulit pero sa lalim ng iniisip ay nakaidlip ako. Rolling into my stomach, I rolled out in a sleepy daze. My cheek planting gently against what I thought was bed sheets but by the feel of it, I was wrong. Batting my eyes open, they fuzz over in a blur for a moment but soon adjusted to the body next to me. Nabitin ang paghikab ko dahil doon.

Zach's aftershave and body scent attacked my nose.

"Mornin'..." His grizzly morning voice rang through my perked up ears.

Kumurap-kurap ako. My heart immediately accelerated at the sight of his dark eyes. My sleepy eyes widened in shock as I pushed myself up onto my knees making the bed creek underneath my scrambling legs. Pinasadahan ko ng mga daliri ang aking buhok bago siya tinapunan ng masamang tingin.

"Anong ginagawa mo rito? I thought you slept in the guestroom?" maarte at pagalit kong puna.

My brows furrowed at the sight of him looking extremely relaxed with his hands behind his head and his eyes trained on my face. Medyo basa at magulo ang kanyang buhok at tuwalya lang ang tanging nakapulupot sa beywang. Tumaas ang kilay ko nang masulyapan ang braso niyang pinag-unanan ko kanina.

"I slept in the guestroom. I'm here to wake you up."

Pinasadahan ko siya muli ng tingin. It looks like he just got out from the shower. Pinakita ko sa kanya ang pag-irap ko. Gumapang ako at naupo sa edge ng kama. I yawned and looked at the veranda. I was admiring the prism from the sunlight pero nanlaki ang mga mata ko nang ma-realize maliwanag na sa labas at tirik na ang araw!

"Oh my God! Oh my God!" I gasped.

I almost forgot about my shoot! Bumaba ako sa kama at ininda ang lamig ng sahig. Natutop ko ang aking bibig, hindi alam kung anong uunahin. Sa huli ay nilingon ko si Zach na papababa na sa kama, hinuhubad ang nakatapis na tuwalya sa beywang. Nagulat ako pero hindi nagpahalata.

"A-Anong oras na? I have a shoot today!" Natataranta kong sinabi.

"It's seven in the morning. I was ready to wake you up at six but I didn't want to ruin your sleep." Aniya habang sumusulyap sa akin.

I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Sana ginising mo ako!" Inis kong sinabi.

"I'm sorry. You want to take a bath or do you want me to send our breakfast here so we can eat first?" He asked using his unusually gentle tone.
