Raza's POV

After hearing her talk I was shaking with fury. This girl is cunning her own family into thinking she's mute what does she even want and whatdidi she mean by if she had a choice she clearly does just say No. But no why would she, I really just want to go to her room and show her who's boss. Show her how much I hate liars. I'm a total hypocrite I lie myself but I don't like being lied to. I know I have issues but I'm not going to change myself.

Showing everyone she's innocent and having all the sympathy in the world.
With the thoughts of making her regret her decision of marrying me I fell a sleep.

*************

I was asleep when I felt someone stroking my hair. The memories of Sadaf doing that flooded my dreams. How she would sit by my side and stroke my hair while I was having a headache. I caught her hand and hugged it close to my chest. I whispered her name with a small smile on my face but right after that the hand I was holding went cold. As cold as ice she was trying to snatch her hand away from me but this time I won't let her go. Not again. I tugged her hand forward causing her to fall over me. I opened my eyes to be met with honey brown ones. This was not my sadaf this was Dua. I just kept on looking in her eyes. Those big round eyes went wide as a saucer when our lips brushed together. Her face was so close to mine that all my hatered and anger flew out of the window. Her chest was flushed against mine. I could feel her heart was in a frenzy. Her breath was coming out as small pants. Her eyes were getting glossier by every passing minute. She tried getting up but I tightened my hold on her waist bringing her face even more close I closed my eyes to lean up just an inch was left.. She was trying get out of my hold but it only tightened

"What were trying to do huh take advantage of a sleeping man. Is that what your up to?" I asked.I don't even know what I'm saying my self its as if I'm under a spell. I just want her close to me. She shook her head vigorously.

She signed something which I didn't pay any attention to. I could see her eyes over flooding with tears. Why the reason's unknown. Her eyes went lifeless for a second as if reminiscing an old memories. My grip on her might have loosened hence why she immediately pushed off of me just when she was about to run to the door I caught her wrist and pushed her against the glass window that looks over the forest which now looks haunted because of the dark. I brought my face close to hers her nose touching mine. She tried escaping again but one of my arms found its way to her waist pulling her incredibly close the other at the side of her head. She kept staring at me with those honey brown eyes which have me under their spell. Her silence is irritating me but remembering her broken voice which was barely above a whisper was killing me. The Dua I knew was loud and confident and cheerful. That girl would never shut up. That girl was not afraid of anyone not even me. I've always been the strict one in the gang as she liked calling it but now her silence is not sitting well with me. Knowing she can speak and is not saying anything is disturbing. When ever I look in her eyes there is always that spark of fear and sadness that scares me. The lifelessness sends shiver down my spine.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

I buried my face into the crook of her neck. I ran my nose along her neck. I noticed the scar that started behind her ear and ran all the down to her back disappearing in her shirt. My eyes widened a fraction taking in her scared teary form that was shaking like I would kill her in a second. She drew in a long breath making the hollow of her neck and collar bones even more prominent.

"You know..." My sentence was cut in the middle by shahzain's voice.

"Raza come downstairs the dinner is ready." He yelled from behind the door.

"OK" I yelled back. Turning my attention back to this girl that makes me feel like we haven't met each other before but the truth is we practically grew up together.

I heard shahzain's footsteps going away when they abruptly stopped.

"Ummm do you know where Dua is baba sent her up to call you?" He asked

"She came to wake me up then left" I said while looking straight into her eyes. I searched her eyes for any kind of reason for her fear but couldn't look past the barrier of tears not being able to look into her eyes I let her go.

She ran out of the room like wind leaving me confused.

After freshening up I went outside and stopped outside her door. The silence made her sobs echo through the corridor not too loud just loud enough that if you listen closely you can hear them. I kept on staring at thee door for a while and then went down stairs.

"Beta was Dua with you?" Uncle Habib asked.

"She woke me up then went to her "I said half truthfully. She didn't just wake me up she awoke the curiosity in me to find more about her.

The whole dinner the date of our nikkah was discussed. Abba decided that the upcoming Friday was fine to which everyone was ready but aunty Tabassum was a bit hesitant the expression on her face completely gave away her fear for Dua.

The whole time she didn't come down for dinner. Aunty Tabassum even went to call her down but she didn't come. She just came to see us off. Her face was slightly red. Eyes swollen and lashes sticking together. Her dupatta now sat on her head. He eyes lowered not even once did she look up.

"Dua beta we have finalized the date of tour and Raza's nikkah on the upcoming Friday. Is that OK with you." Abba told her patting her head.
She only nodded. Still looking down.

We left for a second she looked up the red lining her eyes. Her eyes were screaming words that I couldn't understand. Why are you so scared Miss Dua? I thought.
