24: I love you

I love you.

Those three words kept running through my mind as I stared up at the ceiling.

"What?" My voice came out hoarse.

It remained silent for a moment before he cleared his throat, making me look over to him.

"I love you" he repeated.

A smile came to my face as I rolled over so I was hovering over him.

"You do?"

"Yeah..." He chuckled, looking up at me hopeful.

"Oh!" I realized I hadn't said it back. "I love you- I love you too!"

He laughed as he grabbed my face with his hands and connected our lips. I fell on top of him as our kiss deepened.

"I love you" he said again, a smile on his lips as we parted.

"I love you" I giggled.

Piper came storming through the door as I sit in bed, a book in my lap.

"I'm here!" She said out of breath.

"Did you run here?"

"Yes you said you had something important to tell me!"

I chuckled, "well I didn't mean for you to run."

"What is it?" She laid down on her bed as she tried to catch her breath.

"Bill uh- Bill and I had sex last night..."

She shot up and looked at me with wide eyes. "Excuse me?"

"Yeah- we uh-"

"Shut up!" She said interrupting me.

"Yeah" I chuckled.

Running over to me she squealed.

"How was it?"

"It was great" I smiled.

She squealed again.

"And uh- he told me he loved me..."

Her eyes went wide again as she let out a scream.

"Piper!" I warned as I couldn't hold in my laughter.

"Sorry! Oh my god what did you do? What happened?"

"I didn't say anything at first because I was so shocked but then I said it back..."

"Yeah you did!" She grabbed onto my arm as she bounced on the bed.

I couldn't help but laugh at her excitment for me.

"I'm so happy for you!"

"Thanks" I smiled.

"So... How was he?" She said, now more serious.

"Like in bed?"

"No, at the rodeo... YES IN BED" she said sarcastically.

"He was good... I don't have much to compare it to but it was definitely better than the last time..."

She rubbed my back as she looked at me sympathetically. "Well I'm glad."

It was Friday night and I was standing in the library in search of a new book. I had one in my hand as I looked over the selection of Stephen King novels.

"Hey!" I heard someone say, making me look up.

I didn't recognize him.

"It's Rider... early morning coffee..."

"Oh, hi!" I said, finally realizing who it was.

"Sorry I just saw you from across the way. How's it going?"

"It's going well" I played with the book in my hands.

"Whatcha got there?" He asked.

I looked down at it, "it's a book..."

"Wow really?" He asked sarcastically, causing me to look at him and he had a slight smile on his face.

"Yeah I know, they just started carrying them here." I said back playfully.

"Crazy!"

We both chuckled.

"What are you doing?" I asked him.

"I had a book report due" he answered.

"Oh" I said with a displeased look on my face.

I heard my phone go off in my pocket a couple of times.

"You're popular" he chuckled.

I pulled out my phone seeing 3 new texts from Bill.

"Well I gotta get going but it was nice seeing you." I said as I began walking towards the check out desk.

"Yeah it was nice seeing you too. Hopefully we will again..." He smiled at me.

We said goodbye to eachother as I then stood in line.

Opening the texts i couldn't help the smile that came to my face.

Walking back to my dorm I decided to put my headphones in, listening to my "happy days" playlist. Hearing my phone go off again I quickly checked it.

Would you like to come over? I have a meeting but it won't go over 9:00. I can come get you😊

Unlocking my room I suddenly felt someone stand next to me.

"Yes?" I asked, pulling out my headphones.

"Your Piper's roommate right?"

I had never seen this guy before. He was pretty tall, had platinum hair and glasses perched on his nose.

"Why?" I asked, unsure of why he was asking.

"I just wanted to know when she'd be back..." He said awkwardly.

"Um well, she should be back around 4:00..."

He smiled at me, "great thanks."

"No problem" I said, still unsure.

He walked away and I shook my head.
