Him

Chapter 7

The game was just about to start when a couple of girls came up to me. "So your his next bitch?" A blonde asked me. "Excuse me?" I ask. "There were plenty of girls in your position way before you came. I kinda feel bad for you. What lies has he told you?" She asked. "What do you mean?" I tilt my head. "Sooner or later everything will make sense to you". She said and walked away. Is she telling me that he is some type of monster too? How come I don't see anything that they have said? He's himself around me. There is nothing about him that tells me that I should stay away from him except for his previous girlfriends who don't bother me.

The whistle was blown and the game began with us. Ross had the ball. I stood up with his oversized jersey on me. "Go Ross!!!!" I shouted. Everyone looked at me. I ignored their stares and kept routing for the team. 15 minutes into the game and 6-4 with us taking the 2-point lead. The crowd soon started to cheer with me. 30 minutes and still up 2 points. "Let's go Manatees!!! We got this!! Go Ross!!! Go Manatees!!" I cheered. I started a chant of 'Let's go mantees let's go!' The crowd went wild as number 47 made a touchdown as Ross was tackled. I covered my eyes on impact. 30 more minutes and we were down to our last ball. "Alright. Manatees 34-30 is the score. This next touch down will bring us another victory!!" The coach shouted at them. "Manatees!!!!" The team cheered then went back out in the field. "30 Secs." The coach said. I cheered as loud as I could. "4, 79, 10 Hut!" Ross called and the team each tackled the guys on the other team. Ross had a clear shot. "Go Ross!!! Run!" I screamed. He darted for the endzone. The crowded waited in anticipation. 4-3-2 I closed my eyes as the guys all collided with one another. A whistle was blown to indicate a touch down. We won!!! The crowd went wild as the team celebrated.

He got of the mess and instantly came over to me. "I told you! You did it!!!" He said lifting and twirling me around. "Okay put me down." I say. "Not unless you take this." He said handing the football from tonight's game. "No way! " I say. "Take it. You deserve it!" He said. Without thinking I jump on him and hug him tightly with my arms around his neck and legs around his waist. I quickly make sense of it and pull away. He chuckles then hands me his helmet. "My player." He said. I blush as I take it. "Manatees!!!!" He shouted as he held the ball in the air.They all cheered and surrounded us as they all grabbed it.

We were currently at the after party you could call it. I don't belong here. He practically left me here all alone. We hung out for like the first 30 minutes and now I haven't seen him since he said he had to use the bathroom. I feel like he stood me up here. Its been 15 minutes. I could be at home right now watching a movie while eating gogurt but no. I had to agree to be here for a guy who isn't here for me. I calmed myself down a bit and waited. A moment passed and still nothing. Another came and before I knew it, an hour had passed. I got up and walked around a bit. I looked for him in all parts of the house. "Have you seen Ross?" I asked a guy. "Yes. He's upstairs. First door to the right."  He told me. I nodded.

I made my way up the stairs and  looked for the door. I found it and I slowly opened it and right when I did, I regretted it. There he was making out with the girl from earlier. I looked at them in disbelief. It's like my heart was just ripped out of my chest and spit on then stomped on. I was too shocked to do anything but I did make a sound. They heard and stopped. He looked at me as tears welled up in my eyes. "Laura…" He started. I did what my mind said to do. Run. Run as far as I could and don't look back. I dashed out there and quickly made it to my car. I drove home and locked myself in my empty home as I cried.
