Chapter 19

Lina's POV

It's the fifth time Kaleb has called and I haven't answered. The reason I left was to clear my head, Kaleb calling me is not helping.
I decided to at least tell him that I need time to think. So far I've received 24 messages from Kaleb 5 from Jake (All Concerning Rosie Of Course) And 2 from Tyler. I decided to call Tyler and Jake first.
It didn't take long until Tyler answered
"Lina! Oh my god are you okay? Where are you? When are you coming back!( that was from jake)"
I couldn't help but smile a bit.
"Hey guys" my voice came out raspy.
"I'll be back soon enough, so don't worry about me okay. And if Kaleb asks where I am, don't tell him okay. Wanna say hi to Rosie before I hang up?" I can hear jake grabbing the phone.
"Rosie! Come here baby" she quickly slid down the slide and ran towards me.
"Uncle jake wants to say hi" as soon as I said that her face lit up and a smile was plastered on her face.
"Hi uncle jakey." I couldn't hear what jake was telling her but all she did was nod her head and said "okay uncle jakey I love you too!"
"Here mommy" she handed me my phone back before going back to the slides.
I dialed Kalebs number and put it on mute.
It didn't take long until I hear Kalebs voice over the phone, voice filled with worry and regret, I hear him sniffle, he probably was crying.
"Lina where are you" I heard Kaleb. I left my phone of mute so I didn't respond.
"Lina baby please. Answer me." Hearing his voice makes my heart clench. I miss him but I can't put myself through this again
"Lina okay, I know you can hear me so listen to me please. I am hopelessly in love with you Lina. I miss Rosie and I miss you. I'm so sorry for my actions, and if you would come back I'll show you just how sorry I am. I'm an asshole I shouldn't of done what I did." He was crying at this point making me cry along with him. "Baby please, come back" I hung up. His words replayed in my mind.
After finally putting my phone away completely I looked up once again to check on Rosie. Only she wasn't where she was 2 minutes ago.
I started to panic I quickly got up and ran towards the playground
"Rosie! Rosie!" I couldn't see her. Oh god I just lost my own child!
"Rosie honey where are you?!" I called out once again. Here I am circling around the playground hopelessly looking for my 3 year old daughter.
"ROSIE! Baby where are you?!" Tears are full on coming down, that's until someone tugged my pants, I looked down to see Rosie smiling.
"What's wrong mommy?" She asked, she looked confused on why I was crying. I grabbed her and hugged her as tight as I could.
"Rosie honey where were you! Don't ever do that again understand!"
"Sorry mommy. I went to play on the swings sorry I didn't tell you." She looked down and stared at the grass beneath her.
"It's okay baby. Next time just let me know okay." I consoled.
"Okay mommy" she hugged me one last time before taking her hand and our stuff and drove away from the park. On our way back to the place we were staying at I couldn't help but notice a unknown car following closely behind. I started to pick up the speed. The car did the same. Okay now I'm officially scared. I grabbed my sleeping daughter and made our way into the house. I quickly closed and locked all the doors and setting up the security alarm. I looked out the window. Minutes later seeing the same car park just up the street. No one was getting out of the car. Nor was anyone getting in. I didn't feel safe. I worried about mine and my daughters safety. I stared at the car for a moment longer.
Who could it be?
