"Naturally you have questions on the situation and as I have already spoken to Ryder he knows I wish to speak to you both now. You can relay the information to your club as you see fit. I am not hiding anything. And I do not wish for more conflict." Nikolai said calmly to us both.
I looked to Ryder who turned to look at me with a short nod.
Turning back to Nikolai he nodded and Glitch left the room shutting the door behind him. The dr had also disappeared.

"On Evangelines 1st birthday we were holding her baptism. Tatiana, her mother, disappeared from the house we could not find her. Tatiana never left Evangelines side. She adored her child. The alarm was raised soon after we realized she was not in the house.
All traces of her gone. The security cameras at the time seemed to not he working, tampered with. We never suspected one of our own, my own brother, to be responsible.

"Days began to pass by with no sign of Tatiana. Until one morning the police arrived and questioned me on my wifes disappearance, almost like they knew something. More then two thirds were on our payroll anyway so it made no sense. I am not some monster to kill my own family. I loved and still love Tatiana with everything I am.
Alexei had become agitated in the time since Evangeline was born. He was restless, irritable and become ruthless. He wanted to involve the Bratva in human trafficking. He wanted to force dominance over the states in our territory and expand our hold. Pushing back the italians, which we hadnt conflicted with in over 3 years.
"I was however more progressive and the final decision maker as leader. Smarter investments and alliances. Trafficking was high risk with little pay off. And I had a daughter, who I didnt to be apart of that disgusting trade. Yes I am a bad man. But I'm not a monster. I do not kill without reason. Our world is an eye for an eye.
It had been 5 days since Tatiana was missing. When Alexei slipped up.
He was overheard coordinating another kidnapping, this time for Evangline.
Alexei knew when Evangeline was born the Bratva would continue on through her marriage and children. Alexei was my younger twin and no longer heir but he craved power, more was never enough.
I confronted Alexei to find out he had taken Tatiana and tortured her before killing her and dumping her body in the forest beside a walking trail. Only a matter of time before a passer by found her and the evidence he had planted pinned it all on me without reasonable doubt.
By the time we had discovered the coup in our midst the police were at my doorstep with search warrants.
I didnt have time to deal with Alexei, I needed to get Evangeline out before he killed her too. He sat in his chair cackling as if he had won while I ran through the manison to find my child. Sleeping peacefully under the supervision of her nanny Karina. She was always a troubled woman, after the coup and my arrest I discovered killed her husband and only son. She was supposed to meet with a associate to keep Evangeline safe, changing her name and hide her. Time was not on our side. Addiction was on Karina's she took the money and ran, falling into a pit of drinking to numb the emptiness she felt. By the time I had discovered her betrayal they were long gone. It was a blessing in some way that because I couldnt find her neither could Alexei. I was arrested in an open shut case for the manslaughter of my wife. By some miracle and a bribe to the DA I was only sentenced to 15 years.
And every month the money was transferred to Karina through off shore accounts that Alexei would never find. I did not know the abuse Evangeline faced and I thank you son for protecting her. I do know the reason why you sent her away, and I understand you thought you were protecting her. But if you ever abandon my daughter again I will make sure its the last thing you do. Understand?" Nikolai finished turning to look at me directly

The man was vicious but protective of his family. Processing the information as quickly as I could I nodded looking into his sapphire eyes that mirrored Angel's.

"I will never let them go again"

"Good. Now moving on to the next step, the Bratva who betrayed my rule have been taken care off only about 15 remain hiding out in the underground. As if he is the king of hell. Alexei is desperate. He has failed to maintain control since my release and his power waned. He is leading Evangeline into a trap. He will watch her fight to the death until she sucumbs all under the pretense if she wins she will get her daughter. Alexei will never let her or Lila leave or live past the time he gets there claws in them. Alexei also kidnapped the daughter of the Rebels and a member. Our inside source has reported the woman has been....well its not good. But Lila has been so far unharmed.
No I need to know if you are with us, willing to work as a team to get my daughter and granddaughter home safely. We will work out a proper alliance on after that dog is put in the ground but for now will you work with me?"

With one shared look with Ryder he looked back at me and as if reading each other's mind we turn to him and both say "Yes"

"Lets go get our girl"

Ryder stomps over to the sliding door yanking it open "Doc!" He bellows out and the weasally little man in a white coat pops his head out from behind a corner.

Flexing my shoulder the pain meds numbed the pulling of the stitches. I couldnt just lay here while they got her back and Ryder knew this.

"Yes?" The doctor said quietly entering the room.

"Look doc i need you to pump me with whatever I need to be mobile." I tell him shifted up on the cot

"W-what. Sir you cant youve just been shot" he begins rambling

"And I will shoot you if you dont do what I say right now" i snarl back the doctors eyes bulge.
His eyes dark between Ryder and Nikolai who had opened his jacket to reveal his 9mm Ruger in the holster strapped to his chest.
The dr looked back to Ryder horrified

"I'd do what he says..." Ryder says cooly.

"It would be better for your health" Nikolai added.

And shortly thereafter I was pumped with enough meds to kill a small horse but mobile and probably about as sensitive to pain as superman.

Time to get my girls.
