Grace's POV

The weeks went by fast when I was at home, everyday seemed to fly past at some rapid rate and before I knew it, it was a few days before my 15th birthday.

My eating had gotten better, but I would only eat healthy, clean food, nothing fatty and gross. I had put on some weight and I looked more like a person again, but Mom said I was still really too skinny, but that it was better than where I was.

I didn't feel too uncomfortable in myself, but I still struggled with the weight gain, it was painful.

I had woken up a few hours ago and Mom and I had had breakfast on the patio. I had had some strawberries, raspberries and blueberries and a piece of toast and honey. This was too much sugar for me, but I didn't complain.

I had gone upstairs to grab a bikini to change into because Mom said we should be using the pool more now that it was hot.

I was staring at myself in the mirror, turning my body to see how much my stomach came out now. I placed my feet together and forced my legs to stretch outwards to show my thigh gap. I stepped away from the mirror and rubbed my face in irritation. I looked fat.

I heard Mom call me and I got up reluctantly and wrapped my towel around my body trying to hide myself as much as I could. I walked out towards the garden and heard some screams like little children were here. I frowned and made my way outside to find Mom there with Auntie Amanda, her kids and Holland lounging around the pool. What a surprise.

I walked over and Mom held her arms open for me to sit on the lounger with her. I went over and sat with her and said hi to Amanda and Holland. Mom went to take my towel to put over a chair but I held onto it firmly so she couldn't take it.

"How proud are you of your Mommy, Grace? She's in two films this year and have you seen her as Bette and Dot in American Horror Story!" Amanda sang Mom's praises

"Yeah I'm always super proud of everything that she's doing" I put my head on Mom's shoulder and she ran her fingers through my hair

Amanda went to say something again before her eldest daughter came running up to us and grabbed my hand

"Gracie come play in the pool with us" she gave me a toothy grin

How could I say no to that?

I smiled back and got up and Frances pulled my hand so hard that I nearly fell over and the towel slipped off of me. A look of shock covered my face and Fran turned around and picked up the towel and put it on a chair

"Don't worry about the water, Grace, I can swim, I'll teach you if you want" I smiled at her innocence of thinking that was what was worrying me, not being able to swim instead of my appearance.

We got in and her and her sister started splashing around throwing toys around for me to swim and get and making me dive down to get the ones that had sunk to the bottom. Playing with them was sweet, they were so young and innocent, it made me sad that I had grown up and still had to grow up some more.

We played in the pool until they got tired and then we all got out and I ran indoors and put on a sundress to cover myself a little before going back out and having the girls make us play other games.

We played for a long time, but I ended up giving piggy-backs to both girls and walking around the whole of the yard with them.

Neither of them were big children, they were skinny, but I still couldn't hold her weight very well and I struggled to walk around and hold them without them slipping. This went on for a while and I became really tired. Amanda sensed this and told the girls that that was enough for one day and it was time to go home.

We waved them off and I went and sat on the couch, feeling my eyes shutting.

"Hey girlie" I heard Holland's voice and I felt her move me so that my head was resting on my lap.

"Hey" I mumbled "I'm so tired"

"I know honey" she stroked my head "You were so good with the girls though. You've got time for a nap, your mom said she's making dinner"

I let sleep fall over me, hoping that they wouldn't wake me up. Of course I wasn't that lucky.

---

The rest of August was amazing. We went to Disneyland with the family and Grandma came and we had a good catch up on everything that had happened and she was glad that I was getting better again, although she was still concerned about my weight.

As August drew to a close it was time to start thinking about school and Mom enrolled me in the performing arts school. I was really excited for a fresh start, but then a bombshell was dropped on me, something that I never thought I would have to even consider.

Mom was having a baby.
