Human AU. Don't worry, it's fluffier than other stuff I have written.

"For goodness sake! This shouldn't be as difficult as I am clearly making it!"
"Logy? You okay?"
"Yes dear." Logan called to Patton from the kitchen, however, he certainly didn't sound 'okay'. Patton came in.
"Logy bear, what's going on?"
"Nothing Pat." He wrapped his arms around the bent over Logan. He glanced over his shoulder to see a flour covered cookbook on a flour covered counter. He then realised that he was hugging a flour covered, muttering Logan.

"Cupcakes sound lovely." Patton chimed in calmly.
"I'm sure they do but I have been attempting to bake these for quite some time, I just can't fathom how it can be going wrong." Patton untangled his arms to face his boyfriend, of 4 years.
"Well Logy maybe-"
"No Patton! I need to do it myself! If I can't bake cupcakes then what kind of person am I?"
"Hey. Logan. Step away from the counter."
"No I-It should be simple...is it the eggs, do I need a whisk or hand mixer..." Patton could see Logan questioning everything and proceeded to drag the latter away from the cookbook and to the dinner table. "Wait-Pat"
"Wait-Pat, nothing! What's going on Logan?" Patton almost never used anyone's real name unless he was worried or angry, then all nicknames were swiftly forgotten.

"Talk to me Logan, because I know this isn't about the cupcakes. Please!" Logan just buried his head into Patton's shoulder. It was unusual and shocked Patton but it certainly wasn't unwelcome as he hugged him back. They stood in silence for a little while until Logan looked up.
"I just- I need to be able to do everything and...I can't." His voice was quiet unlike usual where it commanded a rooms attention.
"What do you mean?" Patton clasped Logan's hands but they still stayed close.
"You can do so many things so well but I can't do them, and I can't do any of it. You do it all so perfectly! I need to be independent, and perfect, and work on my own..." He whispered like these words were illegal to speak.
"Hey, hey, hey. Logan. I may be able to do things, definitely not perfectly, but you can do so many things too. I have no idea how the economy works or have the most beautiful reading voice. I can't rap or win every game of Cluedo." They giggled at that and a ghost of a smile made its way onto the tie wearing man.

"But that's not the point. The point is that you not being able to do everything doesn't make you less independent. Relationships are a partnership. We look after each other, balance each other out. We are still independent, we're not like a fusion!"
"You're hanging with your cousin Emile too much. But I just..."
"Logy bear. I love you with all my heart. We have each other and nothings going to change that. We have plenty of time to learn from each other. But even if we don't, we will still have someone to help us."
"Your very wise Patton." This was Logan's way of telling his lover that he was okay now.
"Shall we make those cupcakes now?" Patton pulled his boyfriend up to the kitchen and inspected the cake batter.

"What flour were you using?"
"Normal flour," he handed Patton the bag. "It was in the cupboard, I cannot see why this would be the reason for the less than satisfactory cake batter."
"Logan this is bread flour. The batter is way too thick and is partially clumping together like dough. The rising agents in the flour that would help the bread expand and rise when cooking isn't reacting well with some of these other ingredients either."
Patton put the bag in a cupboard and retrieved a full bag of plain white flour.
"There are multiple types of flour?" Patton giggled at that.
"Of course, just like you have multiple types of sugar or like you have multiple different types of cells." He knew that science would help Logan understand, "They all have a similar purposes, to help an organism grow, or in this case: to help make different foods. The difference is that they do things in different ways or have a different purpose."
"Like bacteria cells have a long looping strand of DNA whereas most have a nucleus. They do the same job but they are different."
"Yeah. So we use plain white flour for many things and bread flour for just bread."

They baked the cupcakes. Somehow both getting covered in even more flour. Patton told Logan to turn around so he could add a secret ingredient. When asked about what it was, he proclaimed that it was love. Logan wasn't sure how true that was but knowing Patton it could may have been the secret ingredient.
"Thank you dear, for helping me, not just with the baking."
"No problem my Logy bear. Go upstairs and get yourself cleaned up whilst I put the rest of this stuff away." The intellectual did what he was told and headed upstairs.

The couple sat on their couch. Patton's head in Logan's lap as he read aloud. It was a murder mystery but not 'The Murder of Roger Ackroyd'. Logan had read that story so many times that the bubbly boy couldn't bear the thought of hearing it again. Logan was reading 'And Then There Were None', another Agatha Christie book. They had taken their cupcakes out and put them away. Patton May have eaten a 1 too...

...so maybe he ate 3 but the more you weigh, the harder it is to get kidnapped. (A/N: Stay safe and eat cake, children!)

"Patton, thank you. You help make everything clearer. People say I'm smart but sometimes I can be so dense. Thank you for providing clarity. You're right, I don't need to be able to do everything, it's a partnership."
"Yes it is. And I think your denseness," Logan looked puzzled, trying to figure out if that was a word (A/N: is it?), "it's adorable. Love you Logan."
"I love you as well, Dear."

We can all do with some fluffy logicality in these strange times. Sorry for the angst that has come up recently I just have been dealing with stuff and I guess that has inspired it. I will put whether it is angst or fluff at the top.

If I made any spelling mistakes, you have any ideas/requests or you want me to write more fluffy stuff comment or let me know another way.

You are all awesome. I hope you and your families are staying safe. Good luck.
